Bottomline do I melt my VA pack (phoenix) for the redeemer? Not that fussed about the extras. More bothered about the ship

What would losing alpha access make me miss out on?
Any help would be appreciated.

The fun.  End. Of.

Keep Alpha access, do not sell your VA package!  I don't see a massive role for the Redeemer, I'd much rather have the Connie from the VA pack, it's far more versatile!

If you're not in the Alpha, think of all the TS fun and the hours of experience you'd miss.  It would grind you so bad you'd practically undergo a gender change.

I do already have a aquila though (now) which means I have a Connie. I don't suppose they'll do a chassis swap for the aquila?

Aye, get RSI to change the Phoenix to an Aquila, then you can lose the non-package Aquila if you really want the Redeemer.   I'd not get rid of the package though until you had confirmation of the change.  I've not have much experience with Support or Concierge as I have not really had the need of it, perhaps others can confirm this from their own experience, I'm thinking of JT or Obsydian in particular?

Is really like confirmation if anyone is able to confirm. I certainly would have preferred the aquila in the first place. Should have never applied that upgrade

If you have an alpha mentioned in any pledge package that means access all module areas yes?

You lose it if you melt that package

Gah. I'm still below the concierge threshold. So snail-mail standard response like a commoner :P

In case anyone is wondering. I melted the aquila (not the phoenix) and got the redeemer. It's actually pretty neat inside.

With any luck I be able to change the phoenix for another aquila and be done with it. Thanks for the help. I have to admit I almost melted it like a douche thinking it would have been a quick support call to get it back.

What's the size difference when comparing a constellation and reedemer?

Quite a lot. Redeemer is considerable smaller. About same length as a freelancer there is a lot going on inside though. It's a fancy drop ship. It'll be great for pve salvage missions though.
Quite a lot more guns. Not sure on missiles though. Just wanted to jump on it while it's LTI. Might change my mind and look at something else though. Still don't feel the phoenix. Who has one and wants to discuss? Or doesn't and wants to anyway?

I'll discuss!

I'm not sure about it.  I'm toying with getting one for melt when the Carrack comes out.  That way, if I change my mind later or the Redeemer turns out to be awesome, I can unmelt it in the future with LTI.

I like that it's smaller than a connie.  People think bigger is better, but that's not always the case.  Its stats are comparable in terms of hardpoints, shields, etc - but in a smaller package.  So the same shield should have a bigger effect on a smaller ship (maybe).  The power/weight ratio is about the same, but it has more maneuvering thrusters.  I think it'll be a nimble, lethal package.

I'm just not feeling it though.  I don't know, maybe it's because I'm not big on combat.  Either way, I'm interested to see it develop.

You know I never considered the physics of it but you're right. It's pretty neat inside. I cm post some pics later if anyone wants.not sure if there are any videos touring it out yet.

There are a couple on youtube, just search for "Star Citizen Redeemer" and select "this week".

There's also the fact that it has a power plant with the exact same rating as a stock Connie.  Given that the Redeemer is roughly half the mass, they've decided it only needs two TR5 engines as opposed to the four the Connie has.  So you get the same power / weight ratio, but with tons more available juice from your power plant (maybe about double? Who knows).  So it should have some serious staying-power and hold its own in a fight far more consistently (faster shield regeneration, better weapons performance, etc).  This is designed for combat, pure and simple.  No run-and-gun here, this thing is tough as nails and will be happily blasting away in battle long after the Connies have run out of steam.

It makes sense, because it isn't really made for much else (whereas the Constellation is a jack-of-all-trades).  I guess you could take the marine seating out and replace it with cargo, but that's a little silly in my opinion.
