Ship Names - Competition

We have a sexy fleet tool right here (http://77.108.135.2/dmwfleet/) that allows us to keep our list of ships up to date and keep track of our fleet capabilities.   RSI will eventually provide such tools via their website, but right now the DMW Fleet Tool is our best way to track things.

However RSI will also (eventually) allow us to name our ships, so ships of the same type will bear different names and be a little more identifiable and personal to their owners.  The DMW Fleet Tool also allows us to name our ships, which led to an idea for a Star Citizen Christmas Competition.

Competition
So here's the competition:

• Go to the DMW Fleet Tool, log in and NAME all of your ships.
• Make your fleet 'public' so that other DMW members can see the names of your ships
• We'll then vote for what members see as our best ship name, be they funny, ironic, cryptic, etc.
• We'll provide some in-game flair or something similar for the winner.

As an example, my Constellation Andromeda is called 'Ptolemy', for obvious reasons! (whilst not exactly humorous, it's better than calling it 'Tealeaf')

So, click on the fleet tool and give your ship a name!  

Winners will be announced around Christmas once we have a vote set up for those fleets set to public.

My ship was already named Honeysuckle, but for not so obvious reasons.

My first memories as child was exploring the Honeysuckle at the bottom of our garden. Sadly the honeysuckle didn't survive our play, leading to my first lesson in treading carefully while exploring new systems.

Perhaps we could add a short bio to the ships names.

I named my Idris the "Indiana", after my daughter  She was IVF and survived an incredibly risky pregnancy.  She's tough as nails and will get there no matter the odds.

I really love that! I spoke to Jamoe about his name too. I just love that some people have got back story to their selection.

Thanks! She was the happy culmination of a long and very sad story. As it happens, that year kicked off a whole run of amazing good fortune - so I bought my Idris and named it after her. Now all I need to do is build it in LEGO and I'll be set.

Woops, you're right, we missed it.  I was meant to do this but spent all of December down with illness, so I'll hold my hand up and say I forgot as I just wasn't online at all.

We'll try to revive this one and get a vote up.   Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup:
