Gamescom - Cologne, Germany - 5-9 August 2015

Exploiting the luck of being 2.5 hours from Cologne by train, I would like to invite anyone interesting in coming along to sign up on this post.

Star Citizen/ CIG will be at the event and there will be a backers event according to the Holiday Live Stream, plus it's one of the best games events in Europe.

Not sure I want to go every day but I was thinking arrive day 1, drinks and a meal in the evening (Köln is famous for good food and drink, Kolsch is a rather delightful beer with a long history http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6lsch_(beer) ). Day 2-3 at the event and home evening of day 3, 2 nights stay over.

I'd suggest going on the Thursday afternoon arriving 6pm ish at a hotel, dinner at 8pm. Show Friday, CIG event evening, Saturday show home Saturday evening optional overnight to Sunday.]

Put me down as interested, I've got nothing planned yet for next summer, so it's an option.

I'm thinking a nice Premier seat on Eurostar would be nice, about the same time as a flight, but a better seat, better meal and free wi-fi the whole way!

This should have no baring on your decision to go to Norway or not. Just I personally want to go to this show so welcome the company.

We need to see is CIG have any news about their showcase tickets and secure them and that also means being there over that evening which is something to consider when selecting dates.

I'd love to come along, but I just received official notification from SWMBO of her holiday dates, one of which covers this period :angry:

I suggest if anyone is planning to come over for this and Star Citizen interests you in any way then you get your order placed fast.

The Gamescom tickets are less important to rush.

I have at least one buddy going over from Amsterdam so we're torn between either having a weekend on the beers and German food and going to the RSI event on the Friday evening or attending Gamescom itself. We're staying over Friday night to Saturday here: http://www.booking.com/hotel/de/ppcologne.en-gb.html but hotels are increasing in price rapidly, we got a free cancellable booking.

My thinking is that this is one of the CIG folks favourite events and the community is strong in Germany. The release of Squadron 42 can't be far off after this one and they should have lots of great things to show us. Plus I think it'll be perhaps the last big event in Europe before release.
