Well, Sunday evening was (expensive for some) fun!

For those who didn't get to play, five of us travelled to the Kappa Fornicus system (search for planet "Panem") and engaged the rebel onion-head farmer's union to fight beside the forces of the Federation. Basically, we picked the side with the big ship and fought with them!

It was tremendous fun and very profitable too. We were make 10's of thousands of credits in bounty. Sadly, due to accidental stray fire I managed to get tagged as "hostile" by the capital ship and was destroyed! 1.4M CR insurance bill. Albert's Python was caught in a similar situation, but survived to pick up a 1.6M CR repair bill! The moral of the story is "don't fight in big ships, it's too expensive, go buy a Viper, Eagle or Cobra".

Either way, we managed to co-ordinate combat and were all getting a sizeable number of kills. The fight looked like the capital ship battle from "Return of the Jedi" and the confusion of con-trails, laser fire, debris and ships flying in every direction was amazing.

Definately something we must do again soon! I shall be bringing my "weekend viper" though.

A viper with A rated FSD and no weapons can jump nearly 20Lyr, so it makes a fast taxi from whatever trade system you're in, to the battle zone.

Sounds awesome! Totally wish I was there! Did anyone take any footage?

I think Albert may have?

I had trouble connecting to the ts3 server. Otherwise I might have joined the fight.
Maybe next time then :)

It was really great fun and the teamwork was great too, true it was "I got one on my ass" and then some one repling "where are you on my way"  Really Up for doing more of these really added something to this game.
"It's hard, but not as hard as Arma!!!" Tutonic
"Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil... prayer, fasting, good works and so on. Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun. Eat leaden death, demon.." Terry Pratchett

I recorded quite a bit of footage. A lot of chat and laughter and the sound lag near the centre of the battle.. great fun!

Specified a design for a fighting Eagle 780,138CR - basically a disposable ship. I will build this at LTT 1349, close to the capital ship battle zone at Kappa Fornucis.

A lot cheaper to replace or repair than my current ship.

went into the intense combat zone last night, picked factions and moved in...didnt even fire a shot and a ship rammed me (about 20 seconds after picking factions) and BOOM...bye bye 387,874 credits...............

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

High Intensity Conflict zones are highly intense and reek of conflict.. dangerous! Avoid :).
