It is true that you can fly some larger planes in FSE but as has been mentioned it's not straight forward.

I too have been a bit distracted away from FSE (although coincidentally I did do some runs yesterday) and have been debating doing some flying in a VA.  This got me to thinking about how that might work if we tried to do that as a group alongside other flying activities like FSE.  It could mean the best of both worlds in that it puts some structure (i.e. reason to fly) around both small and large aircraft.  Perhaps we could even create our own mini VA?

I haven't given this a great deal of though but thought I'd throw it out there as an idea.

I'm also interested in the Vatsim idea and have never really plucked up the courage to do it, so I'd be interested in having a go at that as a group also.

Anyway my two cents.

that would be rather cool, can you have a VA and not use comms on vatsim? Or do you have to use the ATC?

No requirement for Vatsim.  If you use one of the usual suspects like flyuk, you just run some software to file your PIREP.

I don't mind the flying, but if only a couple of us are going to do it, do we need to lose some of our fbos and concentrate on the others

My suggestion is to sell at least LFCM and LFSW before they get torn down. You and me could have the three that is close to each other running with little effort.
I could put them up, but only the group owner can do it. (Sparko)

totally happy with them 3   as it was becoming a chore doing 5

I'll put them up tonight when I get home from work.

I presume we can put them up for what we paid for them? If I remember rightly we got them fairly cheap?

Sparko

Have put LFSW and LFCM up for £750,000 each to try our luck, I'll reduce the price daily.

Might be worth us just flying in some supplies to give us a bit more time to sell, would be nice to make a bit of profit.

I don't think you will get any takers above 200000, but if you want to keep an eye on it it might be worth a try.

Our FBO Down sizing is more or less finished.

I have torn down/sold LFCM, LFSW and LFCU. And I have built a new one at LFLT.
There is still a few bits of material and fuel to move/sell, but they are up and running now.

We now have three FBO's close together (40-50nm) all with 2 lots.
LFHY with repair shop
LFQF to the east
LFLT to the west.

I think we should look in to this as FSE is clearly not the best thing for the group. If anyone got knowledge abot this please discuss. Maybe we could start a new sub forum for the planning/discussion?

If this would get more people flying regulary I am for it.

Sorry Vobler, missed this.

You mean VATSIM? if people are interested in giving it a go I can get a 'how to' guide posted up if it would be useful.  Its a steep learning curve though and you can be sat in the cockpit on the ground for a while but it is good fun using real/mock ATC

vobler

I don't even know what a VA (Virtual Airline) is... :-) No I don't mean Vatsim.
Further up Tuna and Sulky discussed and concluded that VATSIM is not needed.
