(1)  If you have a wireless mouse/keyboard then consider bringing one that plugs in to your machine instead.  Wireless stuff has quite a reputation for not working when it is in close proximity to other wireless kit - and that many people in one room at the LAN qualifies as close proximity.

(2) A long extension lead.  You never know when that extra length will come in handy  8O

(3) A panel plug - so that you can plug ALL you electrical stuff into ONE panel, and plug that into ONE single plug.  These usually come with a pathetically short cable on them, hence it being additional to (2).  (Make sure the panel can cope with what you plugged in folks   )

(4) Duck Tape or equivalent - to tape down any cables that run out from the tables towards to walls.  It will be darkish in there and we don't want one of Oldie's regular 'trips' to the dunny to unplug your system and pull your monitor on to the floor

(5) A CLEAN PC.  No, I don't mean dusted and well polished, I'm talking about healthy, virus & trojan free systems.  We will all be patched together, some of us will have share drives open for others to pull software down from or map packs etc, and there is nothing worse than having a great weekend wrecked by downloading a virus/trojan along with the map pack.  If you haven't updated your anti-virus software or your anti-trojan software then do it NOW, before you go the LAN.  Scan your system and the CDR/RWs that you plan to bring with you - make sure you're clean when you come in to the room.  This point is particularly important to me as I work from home and my PC holds all my data files.  Whilst I have backups etc, I'll guarantee you that I'll be real pissed if someone manages to total my C: drive for me

Excellent points.

But for no 1, as I only have a wireless keyboard I'll be brining it :) It was at the last lan, and I had no probs. It's a digital one with loads of channels so I don't think it'll be an issue.

Bring all the map packs you can get your hands on.

Anyone with broadband, go get the map packs from around the world (well you know what I mean) so that we can stick them on the server at the LAN for all to enjoy.

Might be time to get a proper copy of cs_thunder as well so that Homer isn't always off doing his custom version thang eh?

I will also bring a box of cable and connectors so I can make cables to order if you're not keen on using Oldies long 'un :)
