Wow! The amount of compression is amazing. I wonder if hitting the ball in the area at the top of the racket is intentional due to racket speed. I would have assumed that hitting it out of the centre (sweet spot) would be more beneficial.

Most rackets are engineered to enlarge the sweet spot and also lift it a little.  Certainly on my racket I have to hit it quite close to the edge to notice a significant loss of performance.   I'd guess that the designer's aim was to do what you suggested and take advantage of the head speed higher up the racket.

Fantastic deformation though in the video, the frame where the ball is almost totally flat and invisible behind the frame is my favourite.
