Leonardos should consider changing their name to Stabby McBeatings Pizza & Collections...

I don't know about you Ghosty but I'm offended..

We went last LAN and they remembered us and asked about Sombreros.. :D

Gunda

couple of extra questions..

1) any limit on desk space for monitors? i normaly game with my trusty 27" dell and 2nd 21" for chat/coms etc is it ok to bring both?
2) I have many lengths of cat6 and a super long cat5e 20m cable should i just bring what i have or stick with one long Cat6?
3) Are there any games i need to buy and learn before coming :)

Tutonic

You won't have room for 2 screens, and a 10m cat6 should be all you need on the cable front.

Yup only one monitor mate please, also there will be a packing instruction of what you need for the LAN coming later.

Game wise we will release a list of the games that will be

a) used for competitions
b) supported on the local server
c) games that might be good fun to have.

Small ups ok to bring? I normally run all my gear from one ups.

BrotherTobious

No please bring just a plank with sockets. If we lose power mate we are all fecked :)

It's not just for losing power it also protects my pc from spikes and brownout.

I'm sure you can find a slot under your desk for a small UPS if you feel it is important, but it will be under your feet and not anyone else's!  It will also be a LAN first as we've not had anyone bring one to a LAN yet!   I can't be bothered to bring mine, it weighs a ton and deserves to stay under my desk at home, I just use a surge protected panel plug.  If you're driving yourself to the LAN then I guess it is entirely down to you.  If you are getting a lift then your driver may not appreciate the extra space and weight used! :P

If we do lose power at the LAN, then you'll be the only one in the gaming room, you'll find the rest of us in the bar!:roflmao:

A brownout at the LAN is very common ... particularly after the Thursday curry :flirty:

You really don't need a UPS, a surge-protected 4-way is more than enough. Space is quite limited at the LAN desks, so it'll only get in your, and others way - leave it at home.

A lot of laptops are still alive after a brownout! For an average of 20minutes :)

Apologies but the BrotherTobious and I have considered it and we do not think it is a good idea. We do not want to set a precedent by allowing non-essential kit at the LAN.

Thanks for your understanding.
