You should get a good few hours out of it, if it's cheep go for it for the money you spend you should get a good few hours of it and it can get addictive, I would be more then happy to play with you lib and walk through it with you

Hehe, yeah we can understand that, i guess it aint the best time to get started from nothing at the moment, as with the winter event still in place (although 25% warmer since last patch) you will be freezing to death before you really can get started.

My advise would be spawn in the south (there are 3 zones to take for the south) then find yourself a good nice looking location on the beach and get started from that point. Why there etc. well the south is the most user friendly area there is (that might not be the case with the event still in place, but normally speaking) plus the cold aint that bad over there then more to the north.
The thing you want to get fast is a little thatch hut with a nice warm fireplace, kill dodo's to get some meat and hides to make some leather gear (when you get a few lvls in). If you managed that then you can start exploring the game a bit more, to level up fast in this game is to start building. get a base started and then the game will really begin.

Was just saying to Galatoni, its really unfair on people trying to join now, this winter event is murder for ungeared players, but so glad you've joined us sneaky! when you're on I'll come invite you to the tribe :-D Unless you want to go it alone for a bit still :-D

I actually survived long enough to gather berries, build a torch (which stopped me freezing to death quickly), a camp fire (which stopped me freezing completely), cook some meat and make clothes. Then I went into the water after a Dodo and got killed by a piranha.

2nd time around and I managed to quickly get meat, clothes and torch again. I now have a simple hut on the beach to spend my off-line time in.

So far, just the single death from piranha.

Thanks to Sith for telling me the basics and offering me stuff, but you know me, I like to do it the hard way.

Well it seems that Lib has found his way in the game

Sneaky and OB are air dropped in at the SB's Keep, waiting for one of the tribe admins to give them an invite (hint to Sithy :narnar:)
Gave them some food and a gear set to get started.

Main thing for the game itself, towards new players etc. hoping that the winter event ends soon as with everyone freezing to death doesn't really make it fun or easy to get started in the game, in a game that has a lot of fun to offer.

Aww, I've given you admin to Tribe now as well Grim since I seem to keep missing Oldie and Sneaky, and the cold event should have ended today at 8AM EST so thats a godsend! Can't wait for a family portrait of all the Southern Beards :-D

me not liking this patch... it is great that the snow is gone, but what they did to our tamed dino's aint funny... they are very weak at the moment...
So for those that are used to getting into big fights with your dino, watch out now as he/she aint as strong anymore. I found that out with my lvl 73 bird.
