New to dMw and ED - where's decent outfitters?

Hi Guys, I met one of you at EGX and got pointed to dMw - thanks Arthion

I have run through the training and I'm getting along OK - done a few missions earned a little CR and wanted to upgrade ship. I have visited about 10 - 20 space stations and I'm looking for something more than the loaned lasers though haven't found anywhere that sells much, well anything. Am I doing something wrong or is it usually this hard to find basic weapons? Thanks

You have to find a High Tech station mate.  I am sure one of the regular ED guys will be here soon to help out.

To equip yourself, you need to go to the Galaxy map, and filter by Technology and Population.

High Tech and Pop tend to have most of the things you'd want to buy.

Thanks for the replies, will give that a go - liking this game though not too sure whether it was as good as the original elite on the BBC model B I used to play for its time. Certainly looking forward to how this gam,e is going to develop, I used to play Eve (for about 3 years) and think this has a good chance of being better - just glad I haven't found myself building spreadsheets etc which was common in Eve to make money.

Well, give it some time and you will be doing spreadsheets

But there are tools which facilitate the spreadsheet issues.  Take a look through the game forum and you should be sorted.

Also last night I was thinking about Powerplay and pledged allegiance to the woman thats gives +20% to bounty hunters - not sure whether it is worth it but gonna find out. Yesterday I managed to upgrade my ship with new power drive / distributor and lots of other things. Been using a PS4 controller so far and I think it'll do until I get a thrust master - I mentioned this to my wife and her eyes lit up! ;P
