PTU - Alpha 2.0 - dMw play test?

I got my invite last night and left my PC downloading the PTU build and it is now ready for me to jump into.

Sadly, my day has been pre-planned for me, and I won't be able to get on until this evening.

Does anyone else here have access to the PTU, and if so, do you fancy trying to meet up in game this evening?

Well I didn't apply - they're simply handing out invites based on previous activity levels and bug reports submitted.

But I'll try and give a bit of a write-up later (assuming they don't just simply make it live over the weekend!)

Well, I was on for a good couple of hours trying out Shadowplay as well for the first time (hoping to record some bugs for the Issue Council) but the darned thing was so buggy that perhaps the longest session I had before it crashed or blanked or disconnected was about 20 minutes (and most of that was spent in the hangar ogling my Vanguard!).

All in all very frustrating, not least because the flight model has changed significantly and I didn't have a clue as to which buttons to press while in the cockpit and had lots of trouble taking off in my ships.

I must say, though, that the sight of the gas giant framed by the slowly spinning rings of the space station made for a breathtaking sight.  I would have screen-shotted it but they seem to have moved that button too! :angry:

Anyway, I gave up after a fruitless 2.5 hours or so, but I'll come back to it when they have released another patch for it.

Yeah, they released a new pacth in the early hours of this morning - I left the patcher doing its stuff when I left for work this morning.  From what I've read on the forums and FB, the server crashes are fewer and people are getting in more, but the client crashes are way up, so I expect there will be at least another patch before they let anyone else in.

I'm going to try and have a go this evening and see how it compares to before.
