In addition, I'll get Frenzy to put some time into the one we liked from him, dropping the circle of pilots and incorporating the Jump Point logo as suggested by Obs. This will give us a couple of design ideas to play with.

I think go with a blank canvas. Will be good to see what someone with his skills can come up with.

Ideally, I'd like some thing that has a central 'button' area where the graphic therein changes depending on which dMw game section the logo is for.

When you say 'game section' are you expecting this to be a generic logo for dMw that can be customised for each game, or did you mean 'division' within Star Citizen?

I was hoping to implement a generic logo for the whole of dMw that would be flexible enough to be both game-based (ARK, CS:GO etc.) but could also suit, for example, SC Divisions. However, it's not an absolute requirement.

This rough outline is something I've been trying to get my son to do further work on. I like the overall shape and it should scale well. I envisage the central boss area plus the three empty bars+circle to carry the game/division branding.

Looks like a good starting point. I'll ping it over to him and relay what you've said and see if he can come up with something SC specific, but with a view to maybe doing further customisations for other games and/or divisions.

As stated previously, I see the centre area as a blank canvas for the different game sections within dMw or the different Star Citizen divisions.

In other news ...

The college I work for has a Design & Technology faculty that have recently asked staff members for ideas to be used for the Year 9 (13/14 year-olds) end-of-year project. I have had a quick conversation with the faculty head to see if designing a gaming community's logo would be appropriate. He got quite excited as it has the word 'gaming' in it which he said would create a bit more enthusiasm.

What he wants from me is a design brief (happy if you guys want to contribute). I've told him I'll provide a prize if he wants to make it a competition - we'll be the judges should he agree.
