Ranks Rename?

Hi guys,

I was just looking at some other orgs and their structures (I was invesitgating and trying to compile a draft Charter for us to work on) and I like the idea of retaining a rank for affiliates. This would have the benefit of separating those who have recently joined our ranks and are keen to rise up from those who are just 'friends' and willing to lend a hand some time.

Accordingly, I'd like to suggest that we dispense with CEO (as it is also a 'Role' that only one person can have), shuffle up the ranks and add 'Contractor', and possibly rename 'Recruit' to something a little more 'corporate' like 'intern'.

This would result in the following ranks:

Director
Division Head
Division Specialist (would simply 'Specialist' be better?)
Associate
Intern
Contractor

Affiliates would receive the rank of 'Contractor' (i.e. an 'external' resource) and would never go beyond that. An Intern would progress to Associate after demonstrating loyalty/commitment to the organisation.

Thoughts?

I've gone ahead and renamed (temporarily at least) the ranks as follows:

Director
Manager
Officer
Associate
Analyst
Affiliate

This is just temporary until either we decide on a better title for newbies or Org 2.0 drops and completely invalidates everything we've done (I doubt that will be the case, but you never know!).

I've moved everyone around, leaving anyone who hasn't logged in for over a year at the 'Analyst' level. The two affiliates that we have (Kal-Nor and Juston Tolerable) are now labelled as 'Affiliate', the operations guys are now all 'Manager', with everyone else currently at 'Associate'.

I've also given Recruitment rights to all the managers in the hope that they can help out on that score.

Phew! I'd just come on here before going to bed to apologise for not being able to make the meeting (ongoing family issues are taking far too much of my time at all the wrong times!).
