I've found a quality of life improvement mod to building, which solves quite a bit of problems with the current Ark building nonsense.

Is it possible to add it to our server?

just had a look at this...could be very cool and stop some of the frustration and resultant OCD of building things

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

But will is stop the birds hind legs getting in the way of my Tranq Arrows!

Aye, that's exactly the problem I have in the game.  Building drives me insane..  Things that don't snap, don't adapt to anything, and other frustrations..

The problem is that when we try these things and the server get updated then it tends to break.

There's also reports in the notes saying that it's messing with some in-game things such as missing engrams.

Not convinced but can be persuaded by those more technically-superior than me.

Can't we make a temporary test server and check out things ourselves?

We could copy server files, and mess with that instance.

I'd rather stick with a vanilla server as any mods we've tried in test have broken things.   If we did want a new test server then we could use the old Ark server but this is something for the admins to discuss.

It looks like a great little mod, no doubt about that.

The problem is mods tend to break with updates. As Ark is updated so often (sometimes multiple times a day), we could install a seemingly innocent and minor mod one minute, only to have it break itself, or worse the server, the next. The only way to prevent this would be to hold the server at a certain point, which isn't a good solution given all of the new content regularly added into the game.

The last thing we would want to do is add a mod that ends up bricking the server for one compatibility reason or another, or causes someone to lose a lot of hard work and effort. The threat of this is why mods like this are not really an option for us at the moment :/
