I stumbled across this really useful video about SIDs and STARs.  The bit found particularly helpful was that it linked through to the charts and showed how to practically work through these routes and then how to enter them in the FMC.

Well worth a watch!

thats an epic video..points noted, i'll probably forget though  and have to manually do approaches/departures as usual
