Whatever happened to just turn up and play?  Managed to find the teamspeak server details (probably man looked but it wasn't easy to find), but the password is hidden to non validated members.

Just logging in should do it. If you were logged in then might be something screwy with your account. I'll take a look but it might need Smilo's expertise.

Sign in to your forum account and you'll not see that thread, but you will see the proper password thread.

Is this not my forum account? Bit confused, time has been kind to the brain the last ten years.

Pretty certain i'm kinda logged in?

In which case Igor needs to pull a lever somewhere to make it work.  If you are logged into a validated forum account then you should see the correct password thread, so something somewhere obviously broke! I'll try to get to a PC in next few mins to check, unless Smilodon gets to it first.

Ok, you can see the correct section, but within that section (where you posted this thread) there should also be another thread called: 'Server Password'.

Can you get to the below page directly via the url?

The fact you are posting means you are on a validated (responded to confirm your email address when registering) account, and are signed in.    The fact that you see the correct forum 'section' also confirms this.
What is confusing is why a single thread is then not appearing for you.

Sorted, was probably there before if i'm honest.  I spotted it seems to default to only show threads with replys from the last 45 days.

Ah, that would be it!

We've had a fellow Overwatch player sign up last night (Pastorn), and pointed him towards the server password thread. He's unable to access it due to wrong/missing perms. Could one of the forum guru's take a look for us please :)
Much appreciated.

Pastorn, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

smilodon

The account is activated and looks good to go. Pastorn is a 'registered user' Assuming a browser plugin isn't messing with the forum he should be good to go?

I have found Ublock Origin and other adblockers can sometimes mess with the forum if their options are set aggressively. We don't do adverts or any tracking so it's OK to whitelist us.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

To add to Smilo's answer:

It means he needs to click on the link in the email sent to him when he set up the forum account.   This validates his account and then his account moves from a 'awaiting email validation' user group, to the 'registered users' user group.

This is actually the most often asked question we get from forum users.
