Early Access warning. Do not go further if you are not prepared to suffer the pain. Good soundtrack though.

And it has dedicated servers.

No arcade kidding around here. Serious stuff.

Fascinating overview of teamwork whilst mining and station building.

Also I'm on a server called: ?1Worthy Gaming.Net!? discord.gg/uyH55/ [DEDICATED][EU/UK] 60 slots and a ping of under 30ms.

More advice. When controlling the docking computer on the ship, you enter that view via a small switch on your steering panel.

This guy has done a great job of making videos for every step of the game so far. Entertaining and educational, must watch. His Hellion playlist:

This is so funny. SausageFingers plays games with his other half and she isn't always that keen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InSzQjFLPvU

I can feel the pain from both sides of this interaction!

He still sounds like FatBob to me. :D

I had another go at Hellion this evening and they have come a very long way with their Glossary and Tutorial. I think they've made movement in space smoother a little less hardcore, but it's still tough like it should be.

They have dedicated servers (community not just rentable).

I actually managed to dock a module to my little ship thingy...

I do want to try this, especially with SC taking its sweet time. I've got quite a lot of game on ATM and I'm trying to make time. I'm going to watch the game and see if it comes down in price at all.

The devs of Hellion have made the server code available for use to the community but do not support it directly themselves in terms of aiding the groups who decide to build a community server. Here are a few server related pages that might be useful.

https://steamdb.info/app/598850/info/ - Dedicated server record in steam. Using https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Windows

https://hellion.gamepedia.com/Creating_your_own_server - Wiki page.

Last but definately most useful, server setup howto in full detail including network ports etc. http://ahmadhisyam.com/2017/02/28/how-to-setup-hellion-dedicated-server/

I have to say, I haven't gotten past the spawn, explore my little base, link up an airlock to it, part of the game yet. The fun part will be meeting up with other players and exploring, salvaging and mining to stay alive.

Perhaps if anyone else already has the game they can join me on an EU server, get an idea if there is an audience for this first before committing time and effort to a server of our own.

It certainly has more of a realistic feel than any other space game out there but still is lean able if you are patient and follow the tutorials. Forget it if you have the patience of a gnat.

I've purchased it so will certainly be looking to do this.

Drop by later today on TS and I can tell you the server I'm on, I can give you the Hellion 101. Maybe I can even spawn you in my base!

Waiting for either a sale price or our own server before I dive in.

Yes both of these would make me curious too!

Well I've waited a few sales and it seems like it always 33% off in all the sales.

And they have a dedicated server available as well via SteamCMD.

So they've filled their end of the deal.

Go on then, it's got a single player mode added to it and there are NPCs planned for the future so why the hell not.
