I can imagine the pain starting about 5 miles in and you realising that there is nothing you can do about it apart from finish the walk and suffer or take them off and go barefoot.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I know it's a little late, but having experienced what you're going through, I found these things which are good for avoiding blisters, preserving the internals of expensive shoes, wearing out socks a little faster than normal (although cheaper to replace than shoes). And generally feeling good when walking/ running.

Oh and they cost a fiver, no idea what Amazon is playing at.

Cheers I've seen these in my local Outdoor Shop and yes about a fiver seems right. I'll definitely grab some. It's my own fault, the shoes are top notch, just a little tight till they spread and rather than a few small walks I went for a five mile each way canal walk.

Ouch! Did you go up a size from your sneaker size?

I wear a 10 sneaker and 11.5 hiking boot.

smilodon

Yeah I go to a store that does the whole foot measuring thing and lets you try the shoes out for a week as long as you stay on carpet, so loads of vacuuming last week for me. They felt OK which is why I went for the longer than sensible walk.

Still live and learn.

I made that mistake with flip flops when on holiday. Never again!!

In between toe blisters aren't fun. Then again, flip flops? Seriously!

Was snorkelling in Majorca so thought flip flops was a good idea. They turned out to be better frisbees than for walking on. Toes were wrecked!

These blister plasters are great and I recommend using them if you get a blister. But note the sticky bit degrades over time and after a few days they just fall off regardless of whether the blister has healed or not. I got caught out last night during the CS tournament and was just walking about wearing a wool sock  and nothing else. This doesn't explain me still being crap at Counter Strike but it certainly does mess with your concentration :D

Awww smilo we were all wondering why you were going easy on us :D I bet that really did sting and a woolly sock would leave a lot of fibres in the blister aswell which I am guessing would hurt. At least you know for next time, I normally has a blister plaster on for about 2 days then I would take it off in the shower as for not wanting the pain of it falling off on its own :)
