Microsoft Surface Pro

Seems Microsoft aren't selling the new Surface as a long term option. If it breaks you're done. I've not been in the habit of upgrading any laptop I've owned but what happens if something fails once the warranty is over?

Well at least I paid for 3 years worth of new for old insurance on it etc. Not good though.

This is the very new version, I'm not sure how the earlier ones fared.

 People don't generally upgrade a laptop but I do wonder what Microsoft's recommendation is when someone's 366 day old Surface stops working or the battery conks out?

Almost every laptop I have owned has had some kind of surgery, if only to clean out the fans/heatsinks, often to upgrade/install the ssd.   But when even the M2 ssd is soldered in place.......

Absolutely agree with your diagnosis, stay well clear of this one unless they offer a 5 year same-day on-site warranty.

Norwegian consumer laws to the rescue for me
If something simply fails, they're bound by law to correct it for five years from date of purchase.
If I break it it's an entirely different matter though.
