Hi

We did run Minecraft for many moons, but it bcecame stale. we tried to resurrrect using the tekkit mod system, but the server didnt like it and kept failing after about 3-4 weeks.I am looking at the possibility of asking to put our original vanilla back on as it has been asked for a few times.

but for now please see the thread below and look at post #1, it links to the tekkit system where you can add mods to your minecraft game either for Sp or Mp use.

If you have any queries please post here.

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Like Sulky said we are still trying to work out our current server at the moment however I can help out with installing particular mods and finding mods that suit you. First thing to take note of is that Most mods have different launchers/parameters that need to be changed in order to use them in minecraft. E.g: The More weapons mod (adds in a bunch of different swords and ores for you to find alongside vanilla Minecraft) requires that you have a mod called the Forge Modloader installed into your minecraft folder. Where as a different mod like GALACTICCRAFT (which is my personal favorite as it adds in the ability to go to space, the moon and now mars.) needs the Tekkit launcher in order to work in minecraft.

In order to find what mods suit you simply google minecraft mod list and have a look around or look on youtube. There is THOUSANDS of videos on youtube that give in depth discoveries and guidelines about how to install and use particular mods. If all else fails you could always have a look on //www.Minecraftforum.net which is updated daily on new mods and old.

Hope this covers at least the details of going about modding in Minecraft. If you have any other questions just give me a PM or ask on this thread!

no peanuts

Tbh, I'd grab a pre-configured mod-pack so you know each mod works nicely with all the others and does not cause any conflicts. It can be a lot of hassle trying to get individual plugins/mods working.

Have a browse on the technicpack site and curse, you'll find both server and clients side packs.

Personally I really enjoyed FTB Infinity Evolved, or if you're up for a challenge and a grind, go with one of the SkyBlock packs.
