Since it's a monthly plan are they at liberty to pull it at any time? I was thinking of changing my Mum's 18 quid a month Vodafone in a few weeks and this is a) cheaper and b) more data.

I'm moving from a £10 pm Giffgaff package to this deal just for the data. If they pull it at some time in the near future then it will not go down well with Money Savings Expert who negotiated this deal. Plus, by then, there'll probably be lots of better deals available and it's really easy these days to swap contracts and retain numbers.

I didn't see the ability to retain your number. Are you buying it then migrating your number or migrating your number at sign up?

Jamoe

that is good, I'm also on a £10 giffgaff deal and keep using my 2gig of data.

Two ordered for the kids ! :)

They'll take PAC numbers at anytime.

I purchased the SIM and tested it (new number). Then got my PAC code from Giffgaff (2 min job). Texted Plusnet with the word 'PORT' they texted back asking for the number to port and then the PAC code. The next day I waited for my Giffgaff connection to drop. Switched SIMs, restarted the phone a few times and tested if my old number was connected. It took about an hour to switch once the Giffgaff connection dropped.

Me too - hence the swap. Do note that Giffgaff do not do refunds so if like me you had a bit of money in the pot for when you go over your monthly allowance then you will lose it when you leave - unless you can eat it up somehow.

I'm going to order one for my Mum but also one for me here in Holland. I need to keep a uk number for bank authentication etc. and if I can roam like home then I can use what little data I need in NL. I have a Three roam abroad sim today that cost me 30 quid for 12 months up to 12GB and I'm barely at 8GB with 3 months to go.

Looks a good deal, but not enough data for my usage.   I'm using an older SIM-only deal from 3 which is their old 'unlimited everything' which also includes unlimited tethering data.  I use the tethering a lot, but then it also costs £30 per month and not £10!

I tried several times to complete the ordering process and ended up with a failure each time after inputting the card for the initial up front cost.

Sorry, guys. I should have posted this earlier :blush2:

It failed at the 'Verified by Visa' stage in Chrome for me (I know, I know) so try another browser. Worked for me using IE.

I had the same issue. I finally got working over vpn from NL. I placed 2 orders one in my Mum's name the other in mine and they both got confirmation emails with my Mum's full details on them. Total train wreck.

P.S. And of course they wouldn't allow my phone call to fix it, my Mum had to call them, 15 min on hold. Joke.

Ah I got the same yesterday but didn't have time to go through it again. I'll try again later.
