Battlefront 2: EA Does it Again

New gear is unlocked with credits, buying loot crates. You get the same amount of credits for a game if you do nothing as if you 1 man army the enemy team. EA wants you to spend £$£$£$£$£ and buy these crates, you get absolutely no bonus for actually playing the game..

It is a pure RNG system where if you want to get gear fast you must PAY for it, rather than PLAY for it... go EA go!

The most annoying thing is that the developers that put all that hard work into making the gameplay and making the graphics and mechanics absolutely brilliant are let down by the people that come up with this crazy currency system, these arnt the same group of people!

I was thinking the same thing while playing the beta, SUCH AWESOME GAMEPLAY but the progression just seemed completely garbage!
I was actually annoyed to open the "Free Daily crate"

Its a real shame. More so when these RNG crates actually affect gameplay (you get quite decent stat boosting kit from them).

At least in Overwatch the crates are purely cosmetic :/

I am pleased to see some backlash from these ridiculous pay to play ideas. I will continue to vote with my wallet and steer clear of buying the games.

No you're not. The original point still stands, EA were happy to take the money until the PR backlash. They only cut the price when they felt forced to.

Personally I have nothing but admiration for EA. I think they fully deserve the profits they make from their games. The genius of EA is that they discovered there was a great untapped resource of people who can consistently be treated appallingly and supplied with a substandard product but who would still continue to come back for more of the same. Good luck to them in their quest to empty these peoples bank accounts.
