dMw LAN PC / Social Corner

We have a new set up for the dMw LANs. There is an area of the room dedicated to a large TV and community-owned PC. We have a range of games available to play on the PC, all of which focus around split screen madness played with a controller - we will be providing 4 of these (but please bring spares!).

The games here are all bought from the community fund, onto a community managed Steam account. If you have ideas for games that would go down well at the LAN, drop a post here or give one of the LAN admins a poke via PM / Discord. If you end up with a spare copy of a game you think would work well and wish to donate to the community account, let us know!

There are emulators set up on the PC for a few retro consoles. I will add a list of these emulators and supported games to this thread soon. As above, if there is an older game you want to see running on the TV, please let us know! We can try to set it up, but do bear in mind not all old games work well when emulated like this.

The TV/PC will be available for use throughout the LAN, to all attendees. During some of the tournaments, we will use the system, or use the TV to spectate the matches for an easier way to watch the games as a group!

Sounds interesting sneaks, but I wouldn't suggest bringing along second PCs to the LANs unless it was something we (the LAN team) had discussed and planned with you in advance. We run a tight and busy ship!

We could soon end up with people bringing along too much gear to fit in the room, and trying to organise stuff that clashes with what we have planned, turning the weekend into absolute Chaos (pun fully intended ).

Lets stick to the 1 PC and 1 monitor per member, unless we have sorted something else cool out beforehand! Don't get me wrong though, it's great to know your keen on the VR stuff! You'll be top of the list to chat to when we come to plan some more of this stuff into the weekends.

well its a spare pc but what i mean to say is, its gonna be vr capable, ie i'm getting a 1060 or 1050 ti for it. gonna be bringing my vr with me to every lan i goto tho, we can talk about it when its nearer the time.

That's cool mate, just don't want you going out of your way for our sake, as we haven't decided what role, if any, VR stuff will play at the next LANs. Sure it may do (and then we will definitely know who to turn to for some help!), but can't guarantee it'll be part of the plan.

Definitely don't be buying stuff unless it's something you personally want though! We don't want anyone buying stuff for the LANs from their own pocket - sorting gear out (servers, LAN stuff) is something done by and for the community as a whole, not individually. This is what the supporting member subscriptions, donations, and LAN fees are for, in part. These are the best ways to support dMw financially!

We just want you to turn up and enjoy the weekend, we'll worry about the rest

Hi Chaos, there’s another one on steam called “Human: fall flat” I can’t link it atm but will later. Unfortunately it’s £11.99 but maybe add it to the wishlist and wait for a sale. It can be played 4 player coop rather than Vs
