Just a quick heads up to say that CIG have been true to their word and patch Alpha 3.2 is now live for all to download and play!

The list of improvements and additions to the game are far too long to mention here, but a good summary can be found here:

Just trying it out now, taking my time and just getting accustomed to the controls and flight of the Herald again. I think I've managed to stay in the game for longer than before, FPS is not majorly high but 25% better than before and it's more constant at the higher FPS with less sudden drops. Landed my ship and left it for a walk around. Small things impress me, the landing gear is aligned with the surface of the planet, that's pretty difficult to get right. I never fell through a floor. Removed my helmet, put it back on in order not to die, removed my suit, again, put it on again so not to die. 4K Very High borderless windowed sticks at 37-38 FPS, sometimes drops to 25. Overall it's smooth and doesn't feel unresponsive.

Managed to catch Albert quick for a photo together, I would love to see more people jump on and start having a look at what's available to do in the game, there is more than you think. And if for no other reason that to get bigger and better group photos!

I'll be jumping on as soon as new rig arrives.

I've been thinking the same thing, and was wondering if it was worth bothering setting up a regular play night where, if for no other reason, we could get people on and have a sort of 'ship of the week' type of deal, where everyone gets to see one of the less common ships that some of us have.

I heard that one org managed to max out an instance and get 50 players on board a 600i - that's be awesome!

I think there's quite a lot to see and do, but it will be frustrating and trying, if it was a regular date it might be nice to even do something bi-weekly if not every week. I've had a fun few hours with Albert racing in the past, there is a lot to learn about how these ships manoeuvre etc.
ALSO we really have the members to do something similar to the 50man vs 600i, the more of us that group up and fill an instance the more fun it is anyway! There is an insane amount of stuff we could get up to!
I've got plenty ideas lol

I'm certainly interested in that.

I feel the instancing is stable enough now to at least try this. Sith and I had one server crash but we rejoined with no hassle. The shops all had no goods in them but the ships are looking great. Just don't logout not in a station or your ships stays there and you end up back at the starting base. Also the fps lagging and spluttering has all gone for me. Solid 37 fps on 4K.

I'll see what I can arrange.

Frustrations aside, 3.3 is only 3 months away, and that will pass pretty quickly!  Given that there's probably not much existing gameplay that should be changing, it might be worth getting people up to speed with the existing gameplay in the meantime, so we're ready for the big things that 3.3 should bring: the second planet, Hurston, with Loreville landng zone, 4 new moons, truck stops and additional space stations; Salvaging and manual repair; not to mention Object Container Streaming - so hopefully the player cap will be raised to over 64!

In the meantime, here's a pretty good taster video of some of the new things in 3.2 that should be put out to the membership to get them all back in-game:

The family portraits are growing, I really want to pile as many of us (max 50 right now) into one of these early photos(screencaps) to reflect on at a later date when we're laughing about how long and how far this gorgeous game has come.
Without further a do, here's Me and Galatoni and Jamoe, all landed together at Celin? I think? I can't remember if it was Celin or Yela.
Ships pictured are the Prospector, Freelancer, and Avenger Stalker

I love the look of the Avenger. And your facemask, that's a dirty piece of gear, I like!

Rogue joined me for an impromptu tutorial and basics of SC3.2 lesson. I couldn't resist the photo op with that awesome Saber!
