DiseasedBunny

Starting with:

Army of the dead 8/10 ( Cinema and Netflix)

Enjoyable zombie film, from Zak Snyder. A group of people have to steal money from a Las Vegas casino, but Vegas is packed with the dead - Think oceans 11, but with zombies :lmfao:

The CGI is overdone, but the zombie tiger is worth it alone :taz::taz:

Scary stories to tell in the dark - 7/10.  A good horror film, not quite blood and gore, as it was based on the books a bit like goosebumps but a bit older age range.  Takes the premise of people’s fears and plays on them.

DiseasedBunny

Diary of the dead - 7/10 - The zombie god, George Romero's reimagining of his 1968 black & white classic. It's basically what happened in dawn of the dead, but told in a modern persepctive, using the 'REC' type p.o.v filming. It was a little slow to begin with, but once it got going, the atmosphere simply drags you in.

DiseasedBunny

Survival of the dead - 9/10 - Follow up to Diary, this is much more zombieriffic fun! A national guard team, finding an island filled with 2 warring irish families, one believing the zombies should be exterminated, the other thinking they can be trained, and im sure you can guess what happens next...Really good bloodbath, just how Z films should be.

Chaosphere

Someone has been on a horror binge eh...

Well to continue the theme -

Fear Street, Part 1.

6/10.

Naff for at least the first hour, but sort of comes together at the end. Sort of. Still, decent enough for a lazy horror flick. Going to watch the next bit soon.

Fear street part 2 was much better imo

Fear Street pt 1 and 2 are both a little average. 3 is a lot better.

I llike this thread idea. I watch a lot of films though :D

Confirmed!

I enjoyed #2 quite a bit too, but #3 was definitely the best of the bunch. Overall the 3 came together nicely. Good story.

Probably give them both 8 out of 10s.. maybe a 7 for #2, but then I'd need to downgrade #1 to a 5. Numberwang!

Enola Holmes (Netflix). Inoffensive fun film that zips along with a fair amount of japes and larks. More Robert Downey Jr than Jeremy Brett in style.  Solid lead from Millie Bobby Brown the bald girl out of Stranger Things as Sherlock Holmes young sister..
Henry Cavill is even decent as a young-ish Sherlock Holmes.

A couple of hours of fun - 7/10

Your review is spot on smilo, imo. Enjoyable film but nothing terribly special.

Rattlesnake - interesting enough horror (?) / drama. Quote enjoyed it. Probably also a 7.

Seven Pounds - 7.5/10 (Will Smith, Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson)

An old Will Smith film from 2008 and not of his usual type, i.e. he has very few lines.  I did not see it when it first same out, so this was a first viewing.   Nice change of pace for Will Smith and I thought the story line was good, if a little predictable from early in the film, but still worth two hours of your time imho.

Wisdom doesn\'t necessarily come with age. Sometimes age just shows up all by itself.  (Tom Wilson)
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. (Michael Jordan)

Chaosphere

Yes I liked 7 pounds. I thought he acted well in it.

We watched Blood Red Sky last night.

What starts as a plane hijacking ends with vampires. Not the best, but perhaps better than it sounds from that description! Enjoyable enough that I'd watch it if you're bored and looking for some lazy fun for a couple of hours. 5-6/10

Does it have to be a film?

I watched the latest season commissioned by netflix for top boy then watched the original 2 series afterwards made by channel for. The one made my netflix was much more enjoyable but didn't carry it on from how channel 4's ended.
"Mira Mira on the wall who\'s the fairest of them all?" - Dickdastardly "it\'ll sting a lot" - Lesion

Layer Cake 6/10

There's a little too much taste of Guy Richie in this one to rate it higher. Too many Crazy Cockney Psyco's and Sociopathic Crime Bosses mark it down at bit. But it still manages to stay far enough away from Mr. Richie ridiculous versions of Gangland Britain to be worth a view. Daniel Craig (pre Bond) is very good and more than compensates for the use of a few too many generic nutty gangsters.
