LAN XLI Booking Thread

Quick question: What is the total number of attendees needed to go ahead with the LAN? Just thinking since the speed of signing up is a little slower than normal, booking a flight may be a risk until a bit nearer the event.

From our point of view there isn't a set lower limit. I think Ghost Major and I would go along even if we were the only attendees!

I was planning on contacting the hotel soon if sign up remained slow, to check they don't have any issues with smaller numbers. For what it's worth the last time I asked that question they weren't bothered.

If you're interested in coming and need to know for flight booking, I'll go ahead and contact the hotel now! As long as they are happy with a lower turnout then the LAN will go ahead.

This might be something we need to chat to the hotel about more behind the scenes going forward, but my aim would be to avoid disruption to this particular event.

Righto, I've heard back from the hotel. They have confirmed that there is no circumstance under which they will cancel the LAN. We have a booking with them for the room and they will honour that regardless of numbers.

Hopefully that gives you the needed peace of mind Albert? Let me know if I can do anything else to help.

In related news, we have decided to scrap all LAN fees for this event. We know this is only a tiny cost in the grand scheme of things, but it's something we can do if only as a gesture of our appreciation for turning up! I mean, at the very least it let's members buy a couple of drinks with money that would otherwise have been tied up! Hoorah!

Unfortunately I am unable to attend this LAN. I have too many other commitments in May that are both draining money and time. I hope you all have a great time and see you in October, or August if you're going to the GBBF.
