Good points.

The order is important. So ...

1. DogMeat to ensure that all admins have access to AdminMod and ClanMod.
2. OldBloke to put together a basic user guide for the tools.
3. Publish both Codes of Conduct.

1 & 2 have to be done before we can do 3. I'll make a start on 2 asap.

I've installed clanMod on my home PC so I can get familiar with the configs.

With regards to whether admins should have [Ad] after their name (or similar) an alternative would be for the server to announce:

-=[dMw]=-OldBloke has joined the server as an admin

This appears to be possible using ClanMod. I'll look into it.

I'm currently setting up AdminMod to use the MySQL database which will mean easier stting up of admins and adjusting other CVARs that AM deals with.

This will also make things easier when the permanent match server is running.

Well we have managed to do a couple of the things on the list, but we need to follow through and complete things. Admins now have access to admin commands, but we now need to push on and agree the Player & Admin standards to which we must all adhere. I think that we should do something like the following:

(1) Read the posted Player Standards AND Admin Standards and comment on them if you disagree with ANY part. I will volunteer to make the necessary edits to the standards as we agree wordings etc. If you are happy with the version that is there already then please say so - nobody here has ESP :lol:
Aim to finish this by 9.00pm on Wednesday, 13th November.

(2) Be very sure that WE as admins WILL adhere to the standards. What would we do if someone didn't?

(3) Link to the the Players Standards & Admin Standards from the deadmen home page. Update the Admins page to reflect the full list of admins and dispute resolution.
Aim to finish this by 9.00pm on Saturday, 16th November.

(3) Roll out the statsme script that announces 'an admin has joined the server'. (this avoids the problems with adminmod not liking [Ad] etc). Doggers, I believe that you have this already, can it be added to the server please?
Aim to finish this by 9.00pm on Wednesday, 13th November.

(4) Start some additional pimpin for MH PCS. OK, I added that one to the list myself, but a little bit of pimpin never hurt anyone...did it Stryker? :lol: I know that changing a webpage is a serious PITA but if there is anything that me and my registered version of CoffeeCup HTML Editor can do then I'd be happy to help. In fact, I may go nick the code now to play with it

Aim to start this once the web page has been cleaned up, hopefully by Sunday, 17th November.

Seriously though peeps, we need to move forward and not lose the momentum we have generated over the last few months. Keep up the good work everyone - even that G-man chap who has been playing an entirely different game for far too long

Final word: I put the above steps there as a suggestion as to what we need to do. In the absence of anything to the contrary by the end of tomorrow, shall we take it as read that we will all just get on and do it?

Suggestion #1:

Rather than have Dogger's email address in the player standards, is it more sensible to have an anonymous email address for last resort dispute resolution? Something like AdminJudge@deadmen.co.uk? We could then have the email copied to ALL admins to discuss here in the forum. This would de-personalise the process and allow a concensus response to be agreed by ALL admins. What do ya think?

Sounds good to me TL slight problem i cant get adminmod to work anymore (i reinstalled CS the other day to see if that would fix it but didnt)
Also cant get clanmod to work, but that has never worked (while adminmod was working i didnt bother to check clanmod)

Ok, so we've:

1. posted the Player/Admin standards along with alittle welcome type notice
2. updated the webbie to reflect the current admin list (thanks Stryker)
3. updated the script to announce an admin has joined the server (thanks Doggers). NB When I joined the server last night you peeps were already there, so I assume that the announcement 'an admin has joined the server' is only seen by those already on the server and not by the joinee? The only message I did see was the humurous Doggers epitaph

I still need to edit down the new members details so that they can be added to the members page. However I am still missing over half of them - I'll chase them up and get them emailed to Stryker for adding to the webbie.

Stryker, can you upload those maps to the server and tell me how to edit the posts in the map rules section to upload them from there? If you want me to do it for you or help then just let me know.

Anything else you peeps can think of that needs doing? Ah yes, pimping........get pimping you peeps.

I've changed the announce message. From last night's test, it looked as though the message was only sent to the team that the admin joined. Can anyone confirm this, or did everyone see the message?

The message I saw was saying nothing about Admins - it just said something along the lines of 'you're bloody lucky cos Doggers has joined your team'.

Is that the Admin message?
