Cheating Death

I start it first as a matter of course if i'm playing on the hook, and just turn it off if i don't need it. I'm running the csru final pack and it has no problems with any of the skins/sounds in that.

It's probably worth pointing out that if you connect with ASE (and I think HLSW, and no doubt a few other server browsers) you can have it start and close CD automatically when you join/leave the server. In ASE you do it like this:

1) Go to Tools > Options in the menus
2) Click on the "Games" tab
3) Select Half Life and you'll see a button on the right called "Anti-cheat programs"
4) Click the button, and then browse to the location of the CD program (most likely "C:\Program Files\Cheating-Death\cdeath.exe")
5) Adjust the radio and checkboxes to suit your preferences
6) Voila!

Alas it's been so long since I used HLSW I've forgotten how it's done there, but I don't remember it being very hard.

I've never had any trouble with launching CD after I start Steam though, and if you do then starting CD this way won't be helpful.

Yesterday's update has yet again rendered CD useless so it's back to VAC for the dMw servers.

The Admins fully appreciate the inconvenience this causes our community. We will look at the VAC vs CD debate again particularly in light of the raft of VAC releases that have been released recently.

a bit strange because i got that update yesterday and after that my steam is restarted and i could play with CD or does it have to do with an server update?

Don't bother though as it fixes nothing
