a good move at the moment as the $ is so poor against the pound. I may do so myself :)

Given that it is going to trickle download anyway (whether or not you pre-order) then it seems that you may live dangerously, but sensibly too.  Unless of course you disable the CS:CZ download.  I may opt for this too, even if I am only narrowband.  It's about 270MB if I recall?  I'm just trying to work out how many days this will take to download......

I guess u get to dl straight away once its released with all the other that do the same ooo 1kb per sec? The only thing is does the cd also get delivered to you? AS £15 sounds like a bargain.

Perhaps I need it spelling out to me. Why would anyone want a single player version of a game that we only play online? I don't geddit! OK, from the look of Aztec  the maps may be prettier but I don't doubt they will be on everyone's hdds in no time. Maybe it's a case of having it 'cos it's there. (Can't find suitable smilie at this point!)

Call me and old git.........(OK done?).....but when I buy a game I actually want the game, as in I want the discs, the box and manual. I want to be able to install and un-install it, to move it to another PC and when I'm done with it, to sell it second hand or give it away to a friend.

Steam as a platform for delivering new paid for games is a total backward step and something I will never use. This form of sales has all kinds of repercussions beyond getting a copy of CS:CZ. So Steam is fine for free content, but useless for providing something I've paid for.

And of course the kicker is that Valve are selling the game, without disc, manual or packaging for £16.70 ($29.99). I've bought my boxed game for £16.99. So Steam saves me 29p, and that's only because the exchange rates are so good right now.

So what happened to the cost saving made by not having to press the CD's, print the manual, produce the packaging, ship the game to the store and pay the profit of the retailer ??

You don't get it. It all goes into Valves pockets. So the only people who are going to benefit from Valves Steam Delivery are err Valve. Nice One

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
