Don't expect a drop in GFX card prices in the next month or so. All those punters waiting for Doom3 to be released before upgrading their cards are putting their orders in as I type. Sorry Frenzy  ;)

don't get it from amazon! they are held under a contrcat which prevents them from sending the games out early! buy from game.uk.com as its the same price as amazon but u may get it early like i did with max payne 2 ;)

Actually, I just tend to buy games from a store at full price on the day of release. It's worth it to end a work week with a game you've been looking forward to. :)

Ghost,

I really do not know where you get your information from but you do have a habit of making sweeping generalisations that are just untrue.

The last 2 games I bought from Amazon arrived either the day before or right on the release date.  So they do send them out early but only to try to get the game to you in time. ALL, and I repeat ALL, distributors are held to the same contract. If a release date is set for a game then they are not allowed to send the game out early. Most will try and stretch things by making sure it reaches you on the release date but if you are getting yours several days early then GAME is pushing it's luck and may well get binned as a distributor by some game companies if they are obviously flouting the rules of the contract. Many distributors of videos had a hard time last year for selling DVDs before release date - IIRC Tesco got panned over it - can't remember which video but hey ho thats life.

[useless trivia] LotR:TT - HMV thought "screw this for unfair competition" and put it on sale early too (the Saturday before its official release date). [/trivia]
