I've trawled the Steam forum and managed to find out how to get Metamod/AMX working.  :)

Nine bots are configured to join the server as soon as a 'real' player joins.

Yep. Look at the bot cvars in HLSW.

Skill = 0 to 3.

They're set at 2 at the moment but I found them a bit easy.  :narnar:
