RUSH??! PUBLIC SERVER?

Ok, so I'm playing on a 16v16 server, Aztec map, as Terrorist.

Trying to get people to actually rush... by the end of the map mabye had 3 out of 16 people actually rushing... the rest were just staying back in spawn and camping or running like mindless idiots around the map.

So about every round I'd either rush out left side with 2 others fire at the Ct's down the hall, get hs'd or die in 3-4 shots to a m4 after about 6 seconds.

Or I'd try to break the bridge room on the other side kill mabye 1 or so then get shot (the type where your get moved back a lil or whiplash and you lose aim on your cursor without firing (sorry not sure what to call that).

We lost every single round out of about 30 or more total, it wasn't pretty.. and with 4 min rounds they would always go to the end because this one idiot by the name of Viper would sit back and camp spawn or somewhere similiar every round. (sorry didn't get the steam ID).

Is there any alternative where I can actually have fun in a situation like that?

Because getting owned that badly because my team isn't organized or won't even work as a team outside of 3 people rushing 11-15 is not fun.

Edit: Some game info.. about every round I would buy an AK47, Vest (no helm), primary and secondary ammo, HE grenade (if I could afford it).. Running in 800x600 resolution with cl_weather 0 and a mouse sensitivity of 1.5.  And using the Leet Krew Player Model.

Also there were 2 CT's there were pretty much owning most of the map, I don't know if it was skill or other factors I'll have to start learning how to record demos.. but mostly it's just they'd run into Double Doors on T side and kill the T's at 4v1 ect quite often.  Not all headshots but then again I have no clue as to what hacks are out ect.

I must say that it depends hugely on the server you play on. In this thread you have some examples of other good servers. I usually play on CoFR FR25 or Plopsters Paradise 3 and rushing is usually not a problem there. I agree that on most public servers it is very hard to make people cooperate.
There is still a large part of the CS community that thinks CS is Quake.  <_<

My advice to you when trying to arrange a rush on a public is to try and get 2-3 people with you instead of the full team. If you get them to follow more will come eventually.

I'm with Mats, here, first of all try CoFRserver, excellent server with planty of admins and they are willing to rush aswell. What I've found out is that the more people I've shot, the easier they will follow.  <_< What also helps if they are camping spawn, just tell the CT's. Allways a good laugh for me when the CT's rush us so I can sneak around and plant the bomb while they are still shooting the campers at spawn.

Few friends were over and we were rotating after deaths, I must have died about 20 times 9 times out of 10 to [CoFR]Dog in 1 shot with AK never even saw em each time, out of anger I bought a m3 and slaughtered my entire team  :eyebrow:

Not exactly smart, that was just a really bad day... and as such I'm banned from that one.

Just like I said, bad day.  Not sure who's server west is a few different members run servers and that team is so big.

On another note do you guys know Nomad|CGA|, was wondering if mabye he's in one of the leagues you guys play possiably.  He's on the CoFR Euro server quite often, and from what I've seen he's very good as far as Kill to Death ratio, he doesn't camp spawn or anything like that either.

We know Nomad pretty well. He visits our server every know and then and, yes, he's a *very* skilled player.

The funny thing was whichever team he was on won.. so if I wasn't on his team I made it my goal to kill him, otherwise he'd just pull out a clutch lol.
