Essential Pre-LAN Maintenance

Without exception:

• Run a FULL anti-virus and anti-trojan scan on your system (all files, all drives) *before* you attend.  If your PC infects the LAN then you're in big trouble because 35 annoyed peeps will be chasing you down the road waving big sticks at you.
• Make sure that you have downloaded any Steam patches issued prior to 9am Friday morning.
• Make sure you have read the packing list thread to check you are bringing everything you need.
  

LAN V is imminent, set phasers to stun and I'll see you on the other side.......

had a gander on google and there are so many .......

dont wanna waste my time d/loading kak ones !!!!!

Trojan Defense Suite (TDS) - very powerful but a little clunky to use (they are bringing out a better version soon though, or so they keep saying    )

Trojan Hunter - very easy to use and about £15

PC Flank

An on-line scan, and free to boot. Obviolsy not as comprehensive as an installed program but better than a kick in the teeth

I've just done the PCFlank test and it said that I've got the cleanest and trojan freest pc he's done all day. He suggested I take the stealth test and we passed with flying colours.

I did the stealth test as well and it was "so stealthy" that I can't even find it myself?!! :coolio:  :wub:

All Trojans' ports we scanned are stealthed (probably by a firewall). This means your system is not infected by any of these Trojan horses. We recommend you try the stealth test.

Your computer is invisible to the others on the Internet!
And my virus sweep says it sparklingly clean!!

Stealth, use it to wash with, stains will disappear but probably your clothes aswell.

If you're hoping to play CS 1.6 in offline mode then make sure that your email address has been verified with VALVe.

You do this from the Steam/Settings window.

Oldy. Just to confirm. If I don't have the option to "verify email address" as it's greyed out and my correct email is on the account name, that means I'm good to go right?
