far cry dropping

when ever i try to play farcry it keeps dropping me to the desktop, every 20 secs or so

any one no why its doing this.  i was really gettinin to this game when it started doing it

I get this with loads of Electronic Arts games, so maybe it's similar with Far Cry.  I always uninstall, close every possible application down on my desktop (if you've got XP do ctrl-alt-del and close every process with your user name against it) and then re-install.

Graphics card update? ati had problems with their new update when call of duty came out mayb this is the case with far cry!
