Colour Laser Printer

OK, I'm in the market for a colour laser printer to service the three peeps in the business. We need it to print reports which have lots of colour Excel charts which have been embedded into Word document templates. It does not need to be photo quality

Budget is probably Â£1,000-ish, I'm flexible if the product is right but would prefer to get something for less so long as it does the job.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I use THIS

Its great - not sure how much is cost tho, but it does the job, good colour, good quality etc etc

That's a good printer. The network version is around Â£580 @ Dabs

I think it would be best not to buy from dabs as i have heard they have bad customer services!

Odd another store I have had no problems with. In fact I reported a faulty motherboard to them they said send it in which I did. They sent me a replacement, tested the old one and found no fault with it and sent it back to me. I asked if they wanted the replacement back and they said "No keep it".

Can't argue with that sort of service.

I have bought from Dabs since the mid 90s without a single problem - can't recommend them highly enough.

See it's a funny old world as I dipped a toe into the Dabs world twice. Once they turned out to be about 25% more expensive than Overclockers and on the other I never actually received the goods. It took ages to get my money back. Still you go with what you know and what you trust. I guess every retailers mucked it up at least once.

I would go HP any day of the week and twice on Sundays. HP make work horses that run ad infinitum and never borks up. I have a B/W LaserJet 2100M and it is the best buy I have ever made. We have 3 HP at work that have been running for 8 years now!!!

Things to consider

1. Do I need postscript or not?
2. How will I connect the printer? Network?
3. What is the price for a new toner cartridge?

Regarding 2. I suggest you do not buy a printer with built in network card. It is most of the time a rip off. Buy the printer and a separate printer server and you will save Â£70-100.

With my hp 820cxi printer it prints straight but then after a few pages the pages seem to become parallel! To put in simple terms the printing seems to slowing move right so the borders at the top of the page are closer to the edge of the page than the bottom that is further away! This seemed to be the case with another hp printer i bought! Is this a hp problem? Mine is an inkjet tho?
