Not a bad match really, we lost a couple of silly rounds where things just went wrong for no reason, but overall went down on de_train 8-4 with us on T and 7-5 as CT.  After allowing fo rthe silly rounds, not a bad match.  Good practice really, well played all - nice to have a more competitive match.  Next challenge, be competitive AND win :D

An Aside:  There are only 8 Zombies, but 16 Ghosts.  Given the availability problems that Ghost Squad had earlier tonight, we ought to make real sure that ALL zombies turn up for the matches and praccies, so the pressure is on us to be there!

Sorry folks, I had a couple of naff rounds that could have turned the match around    Plus I TK'ed our recon expert (sorry Frenzy) once. I lagged a bit first half but sorted that with a rate change. Then my missus came into the room saying she was in bed and to shut up which knocked me off sync. I need a sign for my door saying match in progress.

To add to that I have two observations from last nights game.. Comms !! Too much talking over each other !! I couldn't hear a thing at the start of the rounds and as a result wrote a few words or ended up just playing it by ear. We need to be listening only to the leader at the start of rounds. Then once he's had his say only then should the others suggest ideas to avoid missing our (my) orders for that round.
After a few rounds as CT I was trying to say I suck up at the top level of the inside bombsite and normally kick ass outside or under the trains, but found it tricky to get the words in. As a result I think I was wasted up there. I wouldn't normally say something like that but train is my fav map and I like to think I know it inside out. To add to that when I tried to call that the enemy was near to my site, there was so much chat going on and I was dead before I could get the message across, lying dead to the noise of where did Albert die? I felt a bit guilty myself about not speaking enough too.

Anyway, next time, we win. I enjoyed the game but the comms frustrated me.  :o|:

And I sufferd from admin_headsize +50 "-=[dMw]=-Albert"    :afro:

I agree, too much voice! I had to shout to say that they are inside a couple of times, and as no one came, I guess that you didn't hear.

We need to work on this as a team.

The chatter at round start is mainly due to our current 'on-the-fly' tactics.

When we've developed set plays then the leader will call it and everyone will know what to do.  8)

Chatter during the match can be reduced by making proper use of set radio calls. Here's three that would be useful:

1. 'Enemy Spotted'  -  means errr... enemy spotted/heard.

2. 'Taking fire, need assistance' - Called if a rush detected.

3. 'Need backup' -  bomb carrier spotted or bomb down.

I already have keys bound to a script to give these calls if anyone's interested.

Very good. I think we should use them regularly with that meaning. I am adding these to my script.

Yeah that's great, TeaLeaf was giving orders for the plan of attack (or defence) but that was exactly what I couldn't hear. I'm not to hot on calling the shots so I tend to shut up and listen at the start of each round. Last night I could heard nothing but several voices over eachother. I was trying to hear TeaLeaf call the shots but everyone was a bit excited and wanted to chip in with their ideas.

I think what Oldie says it true a) There are set plays that we can all learn before the match B) the leader calls the set plays at the beginning of each round c) the team suggest ways to alter them according to how the match is progressing. In that order with the leader doing his call first so everyone can get the message.

Now that makes sense. All Ghosts and Zombies take note:

A leader is appointed for each match. He will call the plays. Observe radio silence until either a play is called or advice requested. Save any constructive criticism for the post-match thread.

Coms and Chatter

I see from a recent match that coms need a bit of tweaking. Too many people talking that sort of thing

I was watching a football practice the other day and noticed that when a player made a call he also called his name. Example “Appleseed is at B” rather than “I am at/going to B” I know that the name comes up on the left when a com message is posted but if I am in the thick of it I can miss who said the message unless I know the voice

Also the use of Radio binds is very good, as these tend to cut through normal coms and gunfire  but the full meaning of a radio command must be understood ie Need Back Up = Bomb is down ... Thats it more keys to bind, ill need a bigger keyboard soon
