Friends list

On steam you can use that Friends list to see were everyone is but its always been "You have been signed out due to Friends network maintenance." does anyone know whats wrong with it? Or is it just crappy old steam screwing up everything they seem to create?

I'm allways trying to play by the friends list but sinds the last update it's gone.....

I can't use the "friends list" either, but that's mainly bcause I don't like any of you and there's no "enemies list". Even and "indifferent list" would do

ok we as a cs community want a 24/7 friends list but when it was up did u notice early during the day you could sign in but late at night the server was full! whats the point in selling a game if you can't use friends as valve can afford a new server but cannot be bothered to run one with support for our friends list!

Edit : Just managed to sign in! However, it seems to think i have no friends added
they may have possibly just reset the server as im sure its been down for a week now :| [ has for me any hooo ]

I've connected to it aswell. Absolutely no friends, the gits section is empty aswelll.

Yup. They have f**ked up the friends list and all your added people are gone.

So here is a suggestion on what to do about it.

Goto

[Options] -> [Edit Profile]

In "Last Name" enter

-=[dMw]=-

When you search for other use the "Last Name" option and enter -=[dMw]=- and you will find lots of community members.

For all dMw members I suggest that you change your username to

-=[dMw]=-YourNameGoesHere

e.g. -=[dMw]=-Sadako

ok they rebooted the friends list and we now have all the friends we had before! so what was the point in it going down i wonder :blink:

Nope. I've lost the lot! I am so p****d off with Steam. It'll take me ages to populate my friends list again. Bunch of amatuers - wouldn't let them loose on a box of lego! :angry:

OK, heres a trick that worked for me. If you are stuck then try it.

Exit and Logout from Steam

Delete the friendsdata.vdf and any userdate*****.vdf files in your /Steam/config/ folder

Log in to Steam

It recreated my old friends list for me

1 happy bunny but my rant above still stands :devil:

ive got a problem somethings wrong.... i can get nearly every1 here in my friends except Ghost Mjr why is this and can any one help???

(edited because>>) doesnt matter now BB sorted me out
