Dr Sadako

DuVeL is telling people off on both the TCS servers and our CZ server (which needs to be named, but that is another story) in an unnecessarily rude/harsch way. I think he goes way out sometimes even when there are admins on both sides. He is shouting over voicecomm and I have told him to tone it down.

On practices he is one of the guys that shoots/knives/TW/TK frequently. He acts like he is the best and knows everything so he doesn't need to pay attention.

Am I wrong?

No your not wrong Matts

He is a pain in the butt with his shouting over vc and trying to admin it.
(Mostly on the cz server)

He is not very nice towards people who join our server even dmw members and regs get the same treatment.
I feel he needs to be told as he is spoiling it for others me included.

I had to bite my tongue even last night as I was about to loose it with him (now as you know that aint like me) so I just left!

I know I could mute him but that would be going against what TCS is all about and what dmw is about.

I was going to pm him about it but my writing skills may not be up to the job
So can some one sort him out as I find myself leaving when he starts

I am sure I am not alone

How about...

//Me removes my TL lookalike hat

DuVeL, STFU!

//me replaces my TL lookalike hat

There! I think that covers it

PS I feel the same way. Dunno why I haven't posted about him before now. Well done matts for kicking this off

albert

I'll tell him, I like to tell him. I tell him behave of be kicked, simple choice. And he normally goes off in a huff and then appologieses later over friends.

It's normally after one too many Grolsch's.

But you guys are right, he's doing it far too much and although some of it is his genetic makeup of wonderful Dutch charm, i.e. Dutch charm does not equate to British subtlety, he does go ott too often. I don't know anyone who can call yo ua git with such passion. My mother used to tell me off for calling people that and I don;t really like the word. It's used far too often on MH these days.  :eyebrow:

I just take it witth a pinch of salt ....and put it down to Dutchnes " I LIKESH GOOOLD"

But if its a problem with him putting off players from the server then a word in the shell like would not go a miss :)

Yes he thinks he is the number one player on our servers.

He is annoying.
He is loud.
He is arrogant.

Im not sure he knows what TCS is.

He isn't the only one on the servers like this but he does stand out as the worst.

So as Admins we make a concerted but not too overt effort to gently but firmly clamp down on such behaviour over the next fortnight in the hope of longer-term success.

....and not just with Duvel, anyone who displays antisocial behavior on the servers  :) . (Squ0nk get yer stuff, you eyed me totally the wrong way last night.)

FYI:

We were on de_cbble tonight and CTs were getting slaughtered.  Admins had discussed options (Smite had just arrived) and Duvel (who was the leading T) swapped at end of round.  This left T with few of what I woudl call 'leaders' and so I asked him to swap back at first opportunity.  He then started arguing the toss and so I transferred him.  He did nto like being transferred mid round so he left.  He came back on server about 3 minutes later and then started moaning and changed his name to -=[dMw]=-thanx4thekill.  I left it for about 3 or 4 rounds and then asked him to change his name back.  He then started getting smart and asked for me to ask nicely.  So I asked him to change his name back or I would kick him 'nicely'.  He eventually did change his name back  He then started pestering me on IM about it.  I eventually got him to leave it and asked him to take it up 'off-server' and not in game.

He started on voice comms once you said "Change it or i will kick you 'Nicely'" ....I told him to shut up and take it up with you off server in a manner of if you don't i will kick you.

When he finally rejoined he was quiet to start with but the moaning soon started again. Not only was he moaning about that but he starts to moan at other people if they don't follow his calls or do what he wants. For my mind this happens far to often and maybe a gentle pm is needed. I know that will only set him off but I feel something now needs to be done.

We're all entitled to make mistakes. We made one when we accepted him into the Charlie squad IMHO. He moans and gripes all the time, is always on the very edge of what is regarded as acceptable TCS play, posts drivel in the forums (yep I know it takes one to know one :) ) and scares the crap out of me regarding what he might get upto (and has got upto) on other servers and forums.

It took me a long time to get to a place where I felt sufficiently 'senior' (wrong word) or 'established' in the community to start speaking semi officially about our rules, guidelines etc and not until I got TCS admin did I dare start 'laying down the law' on the Homer or the Hook. He was here five minutes and he's ordering people about on the servers already.

It might be a bit much to do anyting harsh based on this one event but I think he should know we're collectively not impressed.

As the community grows it might also be worth re-enforcing the various admin roles within the community and making sure everyone knows their place and areas of responsibilty, or lack of responsibility in his case ?

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

I hardly know where to start. On Train a few days ago I came down the ladder that leads to track 4. Clonk, on the ladder. "Hey Ron, you want clogs? I can get you clogs!" I froze. I hit 'G' selected 'kick player' and my finger hovered over -=[dMw]=-DuVeL. I was so angry and it was noticed by a few others on my team. Squ0nk actually said he could hear the blood dripping from my bitten tongue. I cannot bear the man's voice any more. If he joins my team I mute him immediately. I thought I'd PM him about it, but didn't because, frankly, I think it would not change anything.
Of all the people that have joined us of late, he is the only real mistake. He is NOT dMw material in any way, shape or form.
I hope I don't sound too judgmental.  :)

The point is it's not one event. Why is it so hard to rectify a mistake? Are we social workers/psychiatrists/pyschoanylists? I'm not. I don't like him and I don't know anyone that does.

Any more examples? Anyone?

A PM will be winging it's way to Duvel in the near future as an official warning to improve or face the consequences.
