Quoteone of the plus sides i like about the system is that you know when you put your name down for a match, you know there is going to be a good chance of playing.

for you zombie maybe.... try being one of the masses....[/b]

In my experience, if a player makes themselves available AND turns up in IRC 15 mins before match start then there's a bloody fantastic chance of getting a game.

like I said before, Its very rare I get to play CS so when I do I want to enjoy it. I enjoy the game more than winning.... it just so happens most of the long standing players are zombies, I'm not, hence I'm condemned not to play along side them in league matches.... hence my total non participation in league matches.... nuff said.

I still enjoy my "drop in" sessions tho... at least we aint taking sides there  :) [/b]

Well, the problem has been that the Ghosts don't have enough people to their matches even though they are "masses" ... If you sign up you will most certainly be picked for match and will probably play along side Zombies that have to jump in and fill the empty spots. The last few weeks the ghost matches have been played by Zombies and Ghosts mixed together.
If there is a Zombie match on the availability page there is no reason why you shouldn't sign up. We have vacancies also. If you don't sign up you will never be picked. This goes for all ghosts. Sign up if you are available. WE are still dMw and I sign up for both Zombie and Ghost matches because if I can help the clan out I will.

another thing :)

I think for training we should have mixed teams (3 zombies + 3 ghosts). as we all know the same tactics anyway and it should make for a better practice and avoid 23-1 scores, which I don't think helps anyone :)

and what happened to training on sunday :(

we had training and a match last Sunday.

TeaLeaf

Well I was on MH most of the evening and I was reading the forums beforehand, when did we arrange the praccie for Sunday then?

For some reason i was under the impression that the training was on Sunday too, which is why i pm'd TL that night wondering how come an ED match was on at the same time....that's when he told me it was the day before.   i'm afraid i can't remember if there was notice about it on the availability page, and if there was whether i put myself down as available (my humbliest apologies if i had, but i can rarely make Satdee's so i might not have) or if i had just read the mention about it incorrectly.

Maybe we need to arrange a regular training sesh each week, same day same time (btw, i find 6pm extremely difficult to make - it's just too early for me and i don't think i can get away with the "oh no! It seems that someone's been shot! i must go and make sure the bridge is secure...err... i mean go and help if i can.." excuse again) and/or have a dedicated no nonsense thread for praccy times in this forum section?

One other thing completely sort of off the topic, whenever i view the forums on my machine at home and sometimes my office machine i find threads i know for sure i've not read already, but the unread icon doesn't show, only the already read one. Does anyone else get this?

I also thought that praccie night was "Sundays 6pm" when was Saturday mentioned? And i would definitly not make a Saturday Training session ..it is the only night in the week i dont turn my PC on.

Yes, I have no idea why and it can be very annoying  :(

This may be where the confusion has arisen.

We have previously had a praccie on a Sunday at 6pm.  However I am not sure if there has ever been an announcement to make the Sunday at 6pm slot a regular thing.

There was discussion in the forums on Saturday during the day where several people suggested and agreed to a praccie.  I was one of those people and along with the others, assumed that by Saturday evening that some others might have read the discussion and also turned up - I and they were wrong

Lessons to be learned:

If we hold a formal praccie session then it should probably be on the availability page so that we can manage the numbers properly.

If we discuss an informal praccie session in the forums then it should probably remain just that, informal.

Sunday at 8pm is already a regular match slot.
