Gents,

It's essential that we all have our Steam client installations at the same version before we head off to LAN VI.

The servers being used at the LAN will include all updates released between now and 10pm on Thursday night - 28th October.

I strongly suggest that everybody shutsdown/restarts/shutsdown their Steam clients at around the same time. If you restart Steam after this time *and* an update is released then you may find you are unable to play at the LAN.

Ahh so i wont be able to play until late.
Also i was going to be checking e-mails on friday morning what is the best way to stop Steam starting? turn it off in msconfig?

smilodon

I made the suggestion in my post about making sure that Steam is set up right for the LAN that updates should be done on Friday morning. I'll change my post accordingly if I can

Sorry to mess you about Smilo but I need to make an early start on Friday and I presumed others would too hence the 10pm deadline.

Let's hope that VALVe play ball.

No prob. I assumed that without an official cut off time Friday morning would be safe. Now we have our 10pm deadline we can all get disconnected and packed the night before. Your plan is a good'un  :D
