Hi guys.
I seem to have problems with my windowseplorer from time to time. I just start it and then it goes blank and disapears. It doesn't give an error or so. I've been doing a Google search for it but came up with nothing. Sometimes I even have it when I want to make a new mapfile or just want to copy paste something.
I have Windows XP and all the latest patches.

Any idea what can be the problem?

Second that :)

Third that.

But you might want to check any third party add ons you might be running, such as Google Search Bar etc. If you have any try removing them and seeing if that fixes the problem. If it does then add them again and see if the problem has been fixed by reinstalling them.

Also run either Spybot or Adware checkers as badly coded spyware sometimes crashes IE as well as stealing you personal information. Check for them and delete as neccessary.

Might work?

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

He said 'windows explorer', not Internet Explorer.

This problem can often be attributed to 3rd party apps that plug into the shell to give added functionality on the right-click menu.

There is a hack out there somewhere that allows you to selectively remove them. Try a 'Google' for it. I'll look later when I've more time if you don't find anything.

Removing items from the windows right click menu:

Open regedit, and go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ext] and delete the subkey Shellnew.

You could also do it from a command prompt:

If you wanted to delete 'Photoshop image', enter this:

reg delete HKCR\.psd\Shellnew

Also, Tweakui can be used to remove things from the new menu:

Launch tweakui, and go to Templates

P.S. Mozilla ain't all that!

So:
1) I should ignore DarkAngel, FoCA|Bob_Barley, and Smilodon their threads.
2)Maybe even Smilodon his, I do have Adaware btw.
3)Look at what OB and Doorman had to say.

I will do that tomorrow/in the weekend.
Thanks guys. I'm a bit of a big n00b with computertechystuff like that.
