Best budget deal I've come across for solid headphones:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD201-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B0007XJSQC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322585182&sr=8-1

I've dropped these, tripped on the wire while they were still plugged in and generally bashed them around and they're still going strong. Even broke one of my laptop headphone jacks tripping on it, but the headphones were ok :D

Also there's a couple of Headphone offers going on here last time I checked, although they may have sold out by now.

Ok, pop quiz.  Is it cold in here or have these puppies just caught sight of my new headphones?  You got it, the latter.

I'm now the happy owner of a set of Sennheiser PC360 headphones courtesy of an slighty early birthday present - and as Will Smith would say:

-boom mic, very nice quality, auto-mutes when swung up
-open back design so they are cool to wear for extended periods
-just went through a load of dance tracks with them and they had plenty of tight bass (often a downside of open back designs)
-wonderful open sound stage (a benefit of open-back design) and clean vocal reproduction (tested some choral, some soul, some pop)
-very light indeed
-over-ear design, so they do not touch the ear at all (v.comfortable!)
-on-ear volume control (no cord control to get in the way)

Best of all, they're only 50 ohms, so you do not need a dedicated headphone amp/circuit to drive them (unlike the 150 ohm PC350s).

Go on, treat yourself via the dMw Amazon Affiliate Shop!  They're a touch more than normal, but you're worth it!

Cool man.. Would like to hear them at the LAN. I've been looking for a new pair of cans.

Toxteth

Just snapped my headset in two. Woops!

Blunts been raving about his Sennheisers but my Budget is about £60 and most Sens are out of my price range. Thinking of getting these SteelSeries Siberia V2's. Anyone's used these or got any other recommendations?

BrotherTobious

The karrde has a set and loves them the Mic picks up sound from a good distance away.  He uses the USB sound card that comes with.

I have a steeel serries clip Mic which has been solid as a rock. Hope that helps

I'm just going to give my personal recommendation for the Corsair Vengeance 2000s... Really decent sound, and the wireless just makes them a joy to use. I can wear them for hours and don't feel a thing. I used to own some Sennheiser 598s and 700s, and recently sold both because I had stopped using them. I use the 2000s for everything from games to music. Only shame is that they won't work with my TV or games consoles!

Sorry Le Rouge, missed this post.

The SteelSeries Siberia V2's are what I got and they're awesome (even despite the abuse I was given at the LAN because they're in girly white and look Apple related).

They almost cancel out too much noise!

Definitely a good buy for the price.

I have the same headset as Tox, though it's in Manly Blue rather than Wussy White, and it's a top bit of kit - highly recommended.

Snokio

Purchased the Corsair vengeance 1500 (wired) today as my other headset snapped just before the CS Match yesterday, I find these comfortable and quality looks and feels superb, but I can't seem to adjust any of the sound settings (bass, treble etc), does anyone know of any settings / software?

Sparko

It was a Friday morning, i woke up ready for work, my shirt was pressed and my trousers were starched with a thin crisp feel.
I walked into my office thinking, 'it's Friday, im well up for some CS:GO tonight'
My laptop made a thud as i threw it on my desk, my mug from the day before sat in the place i had left it... the cleaners hadn't been then, i thought.
I got my laptop out of its bag and connected the relevant leads and pressed the on button....wooooosh, the fan sped up, telling me it was time to make a coffee before it eventually booted up.

Sat down finally with my first coffee of the morning after being stopped to talk about the Liverpool game the night before i got on with my work. The day was young but i couldn't stop thinking of a night on CS:GO, how i would pop ducky one right in the forehead and how i could get my knife out quick enough slash blunts torso or wondering what snokio's next missions was.

It got to lunch time, i fancied a Cooplands sausage bun with brown sauce, but they had no brown sauce left..."red then" i said..it was nice and sausagey.

The afternoon came, i felt a little tired from my Sausage adventure, but decided i needed to crack on.  Checking emails, checking the network, popped out for a cig.  3pm came, i decided to check some emails, check the network, throw some paper at the hot girl sat infornt of me.

Then the 32" tv next to me started flashing, with the error "Network resources low!", "Network resources low!".....arggg wt.....

People started panicking like i have never seen before, there was even swearing! omg the world could end! i just wanted to get home for some CS:GO.
So it turned out we had an electrical fault in one of the server rooms that caused the power to 4 servers to trip, meaning we were running off 2, less space, or something like that anyway.

So it came to 5pm, i washed my mug up and sat it in the same place on my desk, packed my laptop up and headed for the exit.  Driving home with no radio on it was a nice welcome of silence, no traffic on the road, just thinking of a night on CS:GO :)

So i put the key in the door, make the turn, Sparky the jack russell welcomes me home with a fuss.  I walk upstairs turn on the office light and see the rig, 'what a lovely rig' i thought.  i turn on the pc to get the CS:GO update downloaded in time, done in 3 minutes, excellent the night is sorted!

Right wheres that HEADSET!.........oh!....thats a point!

he last place i saw it was.....downstairs near the laptop.........phew i found it!

i wondered upstairs, beer in hand, plug the headset in, it shines blue and alive!!
With my pc raring to go i was settled for the night.  "better check my volume inputs" i said to myself, sound fine, mic........errrr ohhhhhh no!
I messed around with all sorts of settings on the wonderful windows7 but i was fighting a losing battle....my mic was dead :(

I took the mic apart only to find the 2 wires had snapped, i didnt know what to do, i was like a surgeon that didnt know surgery.

so in short...my headset is broke, any idea's on a new one? budget about £60.00 :D
