I tried my luck with the RMA route but I knew that they were already out of warranty.

I pleaded with their UK distributor to see sense that the product has a design flaw. I even ended up speaking with the sales director on the phone. He was decent about the whole thing to be honest. He mentioned that they sell loads of these headsets every year without problems and only have about 2-3% RMA.

He advised that my version had been discontinued and that a new model without the huge amp had been put in it's place.

He also cut me a deal on a replacement set for Ã,£25 all in including delivery.. so for Ã,£25 versus Ã,£150 for the Sens PC360's I sold my soul once again..

I used to have a Plantronics GameCom 367 headset and was pleasantly surprised. I bought it as a stop gap whilst trying to find a replacement 5.1 headset and stuck with it for a couple of years until something went ptooie and the mic stopped working.

I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

I've had that headset for over a year and am pleased with performance. The only downside is the headset is too tight,
but its not excessive :)

Currently looking at replacing my headphones (Seinnheiser) too.  I'm considering either the Seinnheiser PC350 or PC360.  I'm leaning towards the PC360 at the moment due to them being an open design and better sound stage.  That and I'd need to drill a bass port into the cans if I went for the PC350.  Still reading reviews etc, so the decision is yet to be made, but I do like the Seinnheiser range and have been a user of them for a fair few years either through gaming or other musical interests.  They don't quite meet the £20 budget though, sorry

Yea I got that headset, it's pretty decent, but like Lame said it is quite tight and my ears hurt after long sessions!

What about the Logitech G35 headset? I'm considering getting one of those. I have the F4tal1ty headset atm, but they are a bit small and the mic is broken. Apparently my cat likes to chew on the mic :(

Hehe, it's not a maze, it's just a bowl designed so he can't eat too fast. He also opens doors and has figured out how to turn off my computer if he thinks I'm ignoring him. The F4tal1ty headset has a mic with foam on it, so guess that makes it tasty...

Medusa.. It's slightly over your price range at around £30 but for that money they're not bad. They last about two years before the ear piece snaps off.

Turtle beach headsets are good for the price £50+ as you can hear enemy footsteps etc

I picked up a pair of Sennhesier PC 151 for 16GBP a few months ago via Hot UK Deals. They're on Play for 48GBP at the minute but worth doing a search.

I have a pair of these. I would highly recommend them if you have a decent soundcard on your PC and if you want 5.1 in a headset.

They also work really well with my Xbox for late night gaming sessions when I don't want the Mrs being woken by my subwoofer and there is no need for a stupid xbox headset.

The only thing wrong with them is they tend to get some clipping noise when the soundcard is using its built in amplifier at high settings. Using the built in amp solves the problem though. Just remember to keep your PC at 70% volume and below and you will get great sound from them.

Good for gaming =) as the 5.1 actually works.
