That's the only downside with the USB. You will have two devices and have to manually switch between the two.

Perhaps someone here has a solution?

A non-USB solution:

They are still blowing my socks off with their sound quality and it allows me a single volume control.  I simply unplug from the desktop volume control when I want speakers and plug the headphones back in again when I want to use them - it's a simple desktop switch that only takes a couple of seconds.

You can buy them from here:

Quote from: Ninja_Freak;387666I've got the 2100 wireless and they're superb. Like anything wireless  / rechargeable it does take plugging in (especially at a LAN).

Not sure about width and track IR. Let me know where you want me to put the tape.

Check this link to see where the TrackIR Clip Pro gets clipped on. Scroll down to post #25, excuse the hair mess that person has applied to their headphones! When you extend the phones to fit over your head it exposes a thinner metal or plastic area, the sensor is clipped around that. Maybe as much as 1cm it can clip around.

It works like this for me....I use my Logitech wireless headset for gaming and my sound card for music etc. I have the usb sender plugged into my keyboards usb port  and set as the default player in windows. When I unplug it, it reverts to my soundcard, when I re-plug it, it reverts to the default device again.

I've found a rather nifty solution to the USB/Onboard speaker issue

It's a little program that sits in your tray to let you switch between usb headset/speakers with a press of the icon or a hotkey.

+1 for Sennheiser customer service:

I bought my Sennheiser PC360 headphones (with boom mic) in Jan 2012, so with a two year warranty I was more than a little peeved when the microphone on them appeared to break in September 2014 as they were not cheap (circa £160 iirc).   Rather than activate the mic when the boom was lowered, the mic just stayed off the whole time, so I suspected some kind of 2 pence micro-switch had failed, whereas the sound quality of the headphones was still fantastic.

As the warranty was out of date by some 9 months I had little hope of any help from Sennheiser, so I opted to use their repair service where you send them back to Sennheiser, they price up the repair and then you can decide whether or not it is economically viable, they estimated 5-10 working days for a price.

After three weeks of not hearing anything I chased them up and got a reply apologising, but noting they did not have any stock of my headphones so had to order some from Germany.   This in itself surprised me as I thought they were quoting for repair, but perhaps they meant 'stock of repair parts'?

Anyway, today a pair of headphones arrived from Sennheiser via UPS.   Not only are they brand new, but Sennheiser also upgraded me to the PC363D Dolby 7.1 headphones which retail at £210.   Pretty damn brilliant customer service if you ask me and the kind of customer love that will mean I will return to Sennheiser again and again in coming years.

Sennheiser.   Excellent quality headphones.   Astoundingly good customer service for a product that was well out of warranty.

Thank you Sennheiser! :worship:

That's pretty good of them. I would have gladly gone Sennheiser had they done a wireless headset :/

If you have to return to them in the next 2 years then quality is an issue! I had the same great service from Shure but unfortunately their earbuds went South every 18 months to 2 years and eventually they cottoned on and reduced the warranty.

Agreed, but of the several Sennheiser items I've had over the past 30 years, this is the first one that had a problem other than "I want a new bit of kit" problem!

Bottom line is they dealt with it really well and got a loyal customer out of it.   A lot of other companies would have gone down the "tough luck" route on the expired warranty.

My nine year old Sennheisers (SK Gaming PC160) have finally started to fall apart even though they still work and sound great. But when the update fairy knocks on my door you know I always let her in :D

After careful research I decided to get the Sennheiser G4me One in black. Yes, they're a tad expensive but the build quality is great, the sound is brilliant (gaming and music) and, being an over-the-ears open design, are very comfortable.

I've been using them for a couple of weeks now and quite honestly I don't have a bad word to say about them.

Still got my Sennheisser PC350's from 2011.

The vinyl covering the sponge ear surrounds is falling apart, but apart from that they're great.

Build quality is tops

I can still hear you pooping yourself from across the map, and Declan's heavy breathing is Hitchcockesque.

Highly recommend, despite the initial high outlay they've been far better value than the 3 sets of Medusas the I had previously.

I received the Mionix Headset from the wife for Christmas. I will be  un-boxing them today, I've had a set of Creative Wraith Wireless phones for a number of years and this is me going back to wired for the weight advantage, no USB port taken up on my laptop and like OB the upgrade opportunity, plus mainly play games with TrackIR so a wifi headset is a little pointless if another device is stuck to 'em with a wire protruding out of it!
