I wasnt clear on this myself so its worth a thought

The Public server *IS* still a TCS server ..... What you do on this server is the yardstick for new members to TCS

A brush up on the rules worth a look ? I think so

Amen to that, even when playing against bots - I've seen quite a few games lately where we've been kicking the bots' arses and there have been 2-3 AWP-users on the dMw team. Just because the bots use those weapons doesn't make it okay for us to. If we were 4 rounds down it'd be fine - the TCS rules should still stand.

Also against bots, I often see people instead of rushing to cover bomb sites as CT rushing to choke points for a few easy kills. That doesn't seem quite right.

I sometimes pick the AWM up from the Bots, true.
But I can use the practice once in a while for matches and so. I only do it when there are bots on the other team (and DA

)

Only being part of Alpha I feel a little out of line pointing this out but if the â€œpublicâ€ server is still TCS, what place does the /rank plug-in enabled on the public server play in TCS? Surely an award system based on how many frags you manage to score is an incentive to bend or push the rules or even totally disregard them for players new to TCS?

I was under the impression that the big stonking label of public in the servers name and the absence of TCS/Z meant exactly what was being implied. Not trying to drop anyone in it but the other day when I reiterated someoneâ€™s point about the rank system I was met with the reply â€œThis isnâ€™t a TCS server though is it.â€ So this thread was definitely needed, perhaps to make the point stronger the addition of TCZ to publics name might be helpful.

Just my two pennies worth, no offence intended.

(Edited because as of today Homer isnt the public is it.. Doh)

The rank plugin isn't enabled ... trust me I turned it off.

My feelings too, if it isnt ok to practice against bots with an awp then when is it? I feel the reaction to 1 (yes just 1 person, me :narnar: ) buying an awp was over the top and came before i'd even killed anything. Fine if all the team was going to start buying them or there we're non Bravo members on the server, but as it was the only people on the server we're fully clued up about TCS and the way is plays so in essence no one would be getting the wrong idea.

I'd hope that other people would have had the courtesy to give people the chance to get their own practice in and realise IF things we're becoming an awp fest then to act and put a stop to it. As things we're a shot hadnt been fired.

Please don't suggest using scout, it isnt the same and the way you use it is NOTHING like the awp. Also creating a server on your own machine for practice isnt the same either as the little bit of lag that comes from the internet also changes things and in essence isn't practice at all.

To sum up, a plugin which limits the number of high end weapons bought would be a much better idea than the total banning of such weapons. One awp or one Kreig/G3sg1 is probably more TCS than than none at all.

The server is always TCS not just sometimes ....the Awp rule still stands...Within 5 mins of allowing one everyone starts to buy them (like the night before :angry: ) and it becomes a sprint race of who can get to the choke points first.

Sounds a bit harsh against bots I know but Im not going to take part in the frag fest that happend the other day :angry:

I have been having some very good Humans vs Bot over the past week. In all the good games the AWP never raised it ugly head.

Our public server isn't a praccie server, it's our shop window to the world of TCS.

There are thousands of other servers out there if anyone feels the need to play non-TCS.

The bad thing about the bots was that me and Browne were playing against them and with a starting money of 5k they all but AWM's or autosnipers. 4 out of 5 bots had big guns, 2 had an AWM and 2 had an autosniper. 1 went around with a pair of dual berettas and managed to shoot hs with it from acros 150 yards.
Those guys were shooting so good that they'd manage to kill us with a single shot every round. I don't know what happend the night you played though.
