I think that part of the problem is that the HTTP file download from the server is now crap - it takes 6 miutes to get a map - it never used to be that bad.

Can we please have a standard mapcyccle until we can get a better http download going - this is deterring people from joining

...and even worse news for Gandalf - he travelled up to help me today as we moved from a simple Workgroup to a fully fledged Domain with OWA/VPN and loads of other toys

Can we have this? I think it might help. cs_rio and other maps keep coming up and then you get told it will be over 6 min download on a 2 mb connection (how much bandwidth do we have into HiV?)

I'm doing it now BB.

We still have a port issue with the fast http DL hence the speed problem.

and the less said about the journey home the better :angry: I mean, what moron shuts the M25? I ended up lost in some place called 'surrey' after the crappy diversion went awol. Ended up getting in at 2:30am

I also noticed BBs observation last night, and I was one of the 3 or 4 on other servers. We had people on Homer, with a bunch of Bots, and that put me right off. OK we can get rid of them but in order to make a game of it, you need 3 a side.
I find we alwyas attracted more interst with empty servers and a man idling, instead of 2 guys and 6 bots.
Might be better to get rid of the default bots and add them as needed? :huh:
