I guess everyone has Adobe reader installed but does it annoy you to go through the lenghty loading process just to read a piece of tuut? Try Foxitreader neat, free and just starts with no fanfare.

Adobe reader 7 is much faster at loading than version 6. Its worth upgrading if you haven't yet.

Rabbi Bob

Adobe 7: Preferences|Startup->Uncheck Splash Screen & Show Messages = much faster than previous versions.
#!/usr/bin/admin
use warnings;
use strict;
use boot;

When my Adobe Reader v6 starts it asks if I want to upgrade to v7.

Say 'Yes' and you get a compulsory 'Yahoo toolbar' thrown in. No thanks.  <_<

Just download Adobe 7 from Adobe website.

Acrobat Reader 7

You get the option to download the Yahoo toolbar or to decline downloading it. I declined and I just have a button on the Adobe toolbar that lets you jump to Yahoo for searching the net but you don't have to use it. That's all :)

So my Foxit discovery is shite then?  :(

Not at all. If anyone doesn't have a reader then its a good idea. If you already have adobe installed then V7 is a good option :)

it's not compulsory...it just auto-adds to the list of what-I-want components when you select ver 7.0 you can then select it and remove it from the list. ver 7.0 remains. bad adobe-yahoo bad, down boy.
