My favourites have to be Saving Private Ryan; Saints and Soldiers; Downfall. If including tv series Band of Brothers aswell.

wasnt there also a full colour version of the longest day, as in same actors but in colour (camaera mounted together with b+w one)?

thank god someone with taste.. Apocalypse Now Redux is the ultimate war movie. If you young'ns havent' seen it yet get it you won't be disappointed.. At the very least there's Samuel L. Jackson as a teenager which is good for a laugh.
