The Officers have been discussing the future of raiding within the Guild and limited number of places currently available.  We have reached some conclusions and intend to move towards the following position:
  • The Guild will look to set up a Raid Group 2 as soon as possible

  • RG2 places will be prioritised to Guardian members not getting in to RG1 on that night and Defenders. (we will not be expanding the number of Guardians beyond the already posted 48)

  • RG2 will raid two nights per week, to Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair

  • RG2 will initially not raid BWL or AQ40 as these instances demand a raid group already experienced and equipped well from MC and OL

  • The RG2 will be led each week by two of the Guild Officers

  • The Guild will help to gear necessary classes (such as tanks) appropriately to ensure the success of RG2

  • The Guild will be looking to set up raids to AQ40 on a regular basis.  More details will follow.

Dalto

superb idea.

good work officers

will save a lot of disapointment for a lot of the members, as im sure they were getting disheartened when not being able to raid :)

If RG2 decides to go to MC or OL, has a class need, a guardian isn't in RG1 but is already locked into another instance, but said guardian has a level 60 alt, would that alt be able to raid with RG2, and would soldiers be able to fill the spaces in the RG2 raid if there isn't enough guardians and defenders?

Dalto

having said that torir you have a point. members who raid in RG1 wont be able to raid with RG2 due to getting saved to the instance, and if we cant fill the RG2 raid group, will alts be allowed to join?

The intention is for RG1 and RG2 to be on the same night, at least on the first night.  We anticipate RG2 will be filled.

It would come down to whether or not the raid has a place for the Alt class, but if another of the alts specific class could be usable in the raid without ruining class balance I don't see personally why they shouldn't be allowed in...my 2 cents

Good ideas here officers. The same night raiding is also good. For example, say we have 40 people in RG1 going to bash MC, and RG2 is also going to MC, and someone who should be in the RG1 raid doesnt get in as a result of a full group, if the RG2 isnt full of RG2 members, he/she could go along to help RG2.

With alts, if the persons main is in RG1, and both groups are going at the same time, then there shouldnt be an alt as the main should be in the RG1 raid, unless its full and that member doesnt get in, but the alt is in RG2.

There will be a bit more discussion about this topic at a later date, for now lets not speculate on the possible ways we can implement this. We are hard at work to work out the details. :)

Well... what im saying is that say RG1 goes to MC and hasnt killed Onyxia yet, and RG2 is going to Onyxia, and someone from RG1 doesnt get into the raid for MC RG1, should they be allowed to join that raid to Onyxia, which will lock them in there, and not permit them to raid with RG1.

if the main doesnt get in RG1 though, then they will be going to RG2, so raiding in RG2 as an alt when u didnt get in RG1 wont be allowed i expect

but im guessing if the person doesnt get into RG1, and their alt is a much more needed class then they could possibly raid as their alt in RG2.

It's a nice idea, but as Kreuz said a while back it may split the guild up into 2 groups. Although saying that we have 2 groups atm really, those that can raid and those that can't. Also, if 2 officers are to lead RG2, which officers are going to be chosen to lead, or would that be discussed on raid days?
And about the alts, what I meant was RG2 might not clear MC in a day to begin with, since the members might not be "hardcore" raiders, and therefore not have the same gear as those people in RG1. If we have too many people for BWL on other raid days, would alts be able to help RG2 in MC? But having said that, RG2 will only be raiding 2 days a week, so just ignore my previous comment about alts :P
