I keep getting emails sent from Tina(advert) about sucking dick fanny etc blah blah blah with pics. The thing is  - i have a difficult time explaining this crap to my daughter .
 Before you go down that street no i did not subscribe to this site or even go anywhere near it in the first place but they somehow got hold of my email address. I've tried email blocking but they're still coming through - about 3 times a week.

Has anyone got suggestions how i can stop them........its worth a pint at the Lan....thats a sacred promise on tina's life.

If you are running Outlook set up a rule to automatically move the email to the deleted items folder, you should also be able to set a rule to look for certain words and move any mails like that to the deleted folder. I know this doesn't stop them. BUT do not goto the site or reply with unsubscribe because all you are doing is confirming that its a valid email addy and the spammers just move it from one list to another when you do that. Alternatively set up a seperate user account for your daughter on your pc then she won't get to see the emails.

Another good tip when posting on forums that require an email address is to use something like instead of @ because the email addy harvesters don't recognise it as a valid address. Also if forwarding chain emails (please don't) use something like email stripper and just forward the content of the mail and not all the email addresses.

the other thing is to open a free email account for anything you need to sign up for on the web. My hotmail and isp email addy's are currently almost free of spam, but my beer.com one is rife with it.

//www.postmaster.co.uk is another good one.

SS if you PM the e-mail headers (all of them) I'll do what I can to unravel the source of the e-mails and maybe get them chucked off their ISP.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

If you've got ISDN or above AND you use Outlook (not Express) then I recommend Spamnet.

This works by comparing your email with a database of known spam. When a match is found it moves the spam to a folder of your choice (I get it to mark the mail as read and move it to the deleted folder). Any spam left behind can be marked manually which will inturn update the Spamnet database (assuming enough other people mark it as well).

Their website says that they're working on an Outlook Express version.

Too late i did unsubscribe in my innocent wide eyed virginal outlook on life and then read all i was doing was confirming a live address.

Yes i'm using outlook & i had tried setting up a block rule but maybe need to experiment and try the partial name identifier i.e Tina.

Other wise i'll try your suggestion Oldie.

Thanx ppl - its amazing what a bit of bribery can do for human kindness - so its 1 pint between 9 of you...i might chuck in a packet of crisps as a retainer though. :D

BTW Tina 's a bit of go'er

Have taken Oldies advice and tried Spamnet, it works really well, but is only a 30 day trial after that its $4.99 a month. Does anyone have a copy of the beta 0.9 version which is free lifetime use?

I installed Spamnet today as well - it got a 100% record via my Exchange set up......  :D   In my book that makes it well worth the $4.99 per month.....
